Thoughts on the name Ezra??

I really like it, but is it a bit "out there"?

"Helpful" apparently! It's from the Old Testament. Im not too fussed on the meanings behind names as long as it's not anything awful! Lol!

Ezra is a great name, and I think it works well with the surname, as well as any other name would!

Ezra Crumb sound brilliant, like a Dickens character (a good, nice one!) No one will forget your boy.

It's a lovely name but it's definitely going to be pretty commonplace soon. I know 3 baby Ezra's born last year (disclaimer: North/East London). Don't think that should put you off though, that's just the way with baby names, you think they sound lovely and unusual and so do lots of other parents!

Ezra Crumb sounds like something out of Dickens. I like Ezra as a name in itself.

Fwiw, my ds has a very foreign-sounding first name coupled with a bog-standard British surname and it's worked out ok.

PrimalLass - I love Pretty Little Liars too, never considered Ezra whilst watching but when I saw it on a name list I thought oh yeah!!

I think it will get popular eventually but not sure I could see it being the new Harry/Oliver/Charlie?? I have a Ethan and when I named him 12 years ago it wasn't very popular but think it's quite high on the list now. I also have a Libby but think her name is still fairly low on the list but not unheard of.

Definitely liking Ezra more and more! Just need to find a girls name now!!

Another one here for whom the name Ezra immediately connects with Star Wars, due to the main (heroic) character in Star Wars Rebels having the same name.

Not necessarily a bad connection to have. But given that Star Wars fever is only going to get bigger with the Disney juggernaut behind it, it's whether the odd comment of something akin to "Is he force sensitive?" would upset you or not.

One of my favourite names EVER, but OH would 4000% never agree to it so no point in me even putting it forward - please use it on my behalf!

it’s a nice normal name that everyone knows. You will probably get another in the class at school.

I know it's traditional but I feel it's very common and sounds like it's trying to be a bit too cool with the z sound. Just me though, loads like it.
