I love love love the name Kaiser, it fits well with our last name and DH is on the fence but I'm sure I can convince him but is Kaiser too strange a name and how bad would you react if you met a boy with the name?

It isn't a name, it is a title.

I've taught Asian (Indian sub-continent) girls called 'Kaiser', pronounced 'Kay-zah'. It didn't seem strange.

But Kaiser as in Bill or Chiefs - no.

Also knew a Finnish (female) Kajsa which didn't seem weird, but knowing the spelling - Kaiser - makes it strange for me. I'd always be wondering if the parents knew what it meant.

I taught a little Adolf in South Africa which definitely made me Hmm at first, but then I got used to it and it was just his name.

How about Karl? or Kyle?

Kai is a common German boys name. But not Kaiser, for all the reasons above. Wouldn't call a baby Caius/Gaius, but that's probably down to the mental scarring of Latin A-level, and most other people won't be so affected.

I knew a Polish Kasia (print. Kash-uh) - she was lovely.

If you do call your baby Kaiser make sure you give him the middle name William Grin

Hideous

Imagine him being lumbered with that name...dreadful.

Teen mom 2. Awful.

The name of our drug dealing ex neighbours attack dog. This name was frequently yelled to the accompaniment of gangsta rap and thick people swearing. For these reasons I utterly utterly detest it.
