I love love love the name Kaiser, it fits well with our last name and DH is on the fence but I'm sure I can convince him but is Kaiser too strange a name and how bad would you react if you met a boy with the name?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Stasie it sounds silly but I just really like the name, came across it online and it's just stuck and I can't find another name I love as much

@Domino777 I do sort of like Caius, I don't love it but since Kaiser as a middle name is also being shot down, I might use something like Caius as a middle name.

But honestly people, I did not think it was that bad 🤔

Whatever your preference, really think how your child will carry it.

It's not so much that people dislike it, it's that it's a title, not a name!

Maybe call him Doctor instead. See how it looks?

LonelySatsuma · 12/12/2015 08:56

It was a popular name for pitbulls, rottweilers and dobermans when I was growing up...

ouryve · 12/12/2015 08:57

Nice name for a German shepherd

NickNackNooToYou · 12/12/2015 08:57

My first thought would be - 'I predict a riot'!

SweepTheHalls · 12/12/2015 08:59

Chief!

BondJayneBond · 12/12/2015 09:00

No, it's a title.

Like Emperor, Tsar, King, Caesar...

CremeBrulee · 12/12/2015 09:26

Kaiser Sose - wasn't that Kevin Spacey's character in the Usual Suspects? And wasn't that synonymous with the devil?

Confused
Candycoco · 12/12/2015 09:37

Jenelle from teen mom 2. This generation will always associate it with her, not good.

Janek · 12/12/2015 09:40

I know a finnish (i think) woman caller Kaiser, not sure how she spells it though.

Sophronia · 12/12/2015 12:01

I know a Kaiser Alexander who is about 4, he usually goes by Kai though. I agree it sounds like a dog name.

afreshstartplease · 12/12/2015 12:06

I also think of Jenelle Evans when I hear this name! Sorry!

janek I know a Swedish woman with that name too. I think her name is spelt Kajsa.

FixItUpChappie · 12/12/2015 14:37

I like Stasies suggestion of "Kai" - that is very nice

Ifiwasabadger · 12/12/2015 14:39

Isn't Kai one of the Rodney's kids? That's a no from me too.

Mouthfulofquiz · 12/12/2015 14:40

Kaiser Permanente springs to my mind, which is sad, but there you go!

IsadoraQuagmire · 12/12/2015 15:14

No one wants to be reminded of Janelle Evans! I'd like it as a name for a Rottweiller or German Shepherd (though, actually, associations with Janelle would ruin that for me too)

Madbengalmum · 12/12/2015 15:26

Chiefs, err no

squoosh · 12/12/2015 19:42

How would I react?

I'd salute probably.

Then I'd check the date.

Oysterbabe · 12/12/2015 21:13

This isn't a joke is it?
Dear God you cannot do that to a child.

mrsschu · 12/12/2015 22:15

Yep, reminds me of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Who had a deformed arm. The deformed arm is obviously not a reason not to use the name but it has lots of not so good connotations for people. Dreadful name. And it is like calling her child King, Tsar etc...

SirChenjin · 12/12/2015 22:19

Your DP is a sensible person. Tell him to stay on that fence while you get back to the baby names book.

Mrsfrumble · 13/12/2015 01:04

Well I hope everyone reading this thread has already seen The Usual Suspects... Grin

mathanxiety · 14/12/2015 02:32

How about Kaspar or Casimir?
