Tristan is my favourite from your list and Cai my least favourite.

I like Gethin too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2015 23:29

Tristan - gorgeous
Dylan

Big, big, big gap.

Cai (but I don't like it at all)
Stefan (hate it -sorry)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 27/11/2015 23:30

Tristan

AbeSaidYes · 27/11/2015 23:30

What about Trystan with the y?

casey101 · 27/11/2015 23:32

thank you all so far. there are different ways of spelling it (tristan) but think that's the original

Christian because then you get Kit as a nickname

Tristan is also nice. Dylan too. Dislike the others.

Tiggeryoubastard · 27/11/2015 23:33

Dylan and Tristan are great. Cai has now been taken over by the 'Kai' Rooney types, I'd avoid like the plague. Geraint has always been a fave of mine (name AND uncle both faves).

casey101 · 27/11/2015 23:33

i do like names with 'i' in Abe hence I like Christian, Finn, Cai, Tristan etc! So prob pref Tristan unless Tristyn but that looks a bit feminine?

Allalonenow ty i do like gethin but when i see it i also just see the words 'Get in!'

TY Bigpants4 i like Kit because of Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) but I just cant imagine calling my son Kit as in calling it out loud eg in the park etc. On the other hand i dont like the nickname chris which he would probably get??

casey101 · 27/11/2015 23:42

Thanks Tigger, not as keen on Geraint as it's a slightly 'harsher' sound which is why i was unsure about Cai- tend to prefer softer vowel sounds I think...

I really like both Tristan and Dylan as Welsh boys names. I would avoid Cai personally because of the whole 'k' name fad. My son's an Owain. My favourite non-Welsh name was Elliot.

DeepBlueLake · 27/11/2015 23:49

Tristan is really lovely. Dylan is nice too.

Defiantly no to Cai and Stefan.

celtictoast · 28/11/2015 00:33

I like Tristan and Dylan best.

Stefan - like
Dylan - like
Tristan - like
Cai - OK
Christian - like, with Chris as nickname, not Kit which is rather twee. If you don't like the nicknames then might not be a good idea to go for this name.
Finn - quite faddy, dislike

Tirfarthoin · 28/11/2015 07:40

I love Stefan
Finn to me is a shortening of Finbar or Fintan they are great names

CakeRattleandRoll · 28/11/2015 07:54

Dylan, Tristan, Stefan - all great.

casey101 · 28/11/2015 10:50

thanks all just wondering if tristan will sound odd with last name which is also 2 syllables ending in the letter 'n'?

OP posts:
casey101 · 28/11/2015 10:51

also another option was Kristian spelt this way?

OP posts:
IoraRua · 28/11/2015 12:41

Stefan and Tristan are great.
Dylan is also nice.

Tirfarthoin · 28/11/2015 19:39

If your concern is the first name with a two syllable surnam ending in n then that may rule out Dylan, Christian and Tristan. It does depend on the surname eg Dylan Nolan may not sound as good as Tristan Nolan.

Tirfarthoin · 28/11/2015 19:40

Oh and Stefan Nolan

yeOldeTrout · 28/11/2015 19:44

DS was nearly a Steven & ended up as a Tristan.
The others are fine, but I have to say DS goes thru life explaining that he is not Christian-Justin-Dustin-etc.

Doilooklikeatourist · 28/11/2015 19:50

Stefan
Tristan ( Trystram ? Tyrian ? )
Cai . No its awful
Dylan .. It's ok

Gelert ?
Celt ?

ohhelpohnoitsa · 28/11/2015 19:52

I love Dylan
