What do you think of this girls name? It means small champion, which I think is lovely Smile x

I haven't heard it for ages. I think it sounds rather nice.

celtictoast · 16/11/2015 09:43

I quite like it.

Sunshine511 · 16/11/2015 10:10

Thank you ladies... That's a nice positive start Smile

I love it. I know one Carly and she's just amazing. I suppose that makes me biased towards the name a bit Smile

Difficultchoice · 16/11/2015 10:13

Not for me but I can see why people might choose it!

romanrainsalot · 16/11/2015 10:23

Like it a lot. Not heard it in a long time but its sweet. I also knew a Carly in school, she was nice

Archer26 · 16/11/2015 10:29

That's my name. Smile But mine is spelt unusually awkwardly, thanks parents. I love Carly spelt the traditional way. I think it's a lovely warm name.

Go for it. Not many of us these days.

whoseafraidofnaomiwolf · 16/11/2015 11:04

It's a lovely name - I hope you use it :)

Willow33 · 16/11/2015 11:05

I know two - both lovely girls

Sunshine511 · 16/11/2015 11:25

Wow!! Great response!! From looking online apparently it's the 650th most popular girls name in the UK. So I thought I'd get a lot more negative comments! Seems it's well liked, just not that common (which is a bonus! Thank you ladies. Just need a middle name now Smile any suggestions?x

Some great suggestions, thank you! I like Carly Louise but actually think I might prefer Carly Louisa. What do you think?x

Minty82 · 16/11/2015 12:47

I like it as a nickname for Caroline (which I love in itself), but not really a fan on its own. But as no one would know day to day whether it was a full name or not that needn't affect you!

timeisfreebutitspriceless · 16/11/2015 16:29

I like it :) I personally wouldn't use it, but it's a nice name and Carly Louisa is great :)

IoraRua · 16/11/2015 16:30

Like I said on other thread- lovely.
Carly Louisa would be nice.

shutupanddance · 16/11/2015 16:32

I think its dated sorry.

Sunshine511 · 16/11/2015 18:07

Thank you very much for all the advice and opinions. Smile x

Lovely! I'm admittedly biased because I have a lovely friend by that name (but then I have friends with horrible names, too).

Sunshine511 · 16/11/2015 19:27

Thank you :) a lot of people saying they know a nice person by that name! Smile

Gracey79 · 16/11/2015 19:31

Lovely name - very underused

hawkmcqueen · 16/11/2015 19:42

Very 80s. I would put it with Stacey and Tracy. I seem to be in a minority though!

ktmummy1 · 16/11/2015 19:58

I think it's dated but I do like it. I think I prefer Carla, Cara, Clara though!

HeteronormativeHaybales · 16/11/2015 20:03

I really, really don't like it, sorry. If you áre absolutely set on it, you could call your dd Charlotte and use it as a nickname? Then at least she has the choice of a more (again, sorry) elegant and distinguished name to use as she grows up.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 16/11/2015 20:05

I'm strangely fond of it.
