I love (but cannot use, for various reasons):

Gabriel
Rowan
Roman
Laurence/Laurie

I like, but not quite enough to use:

Alexander

I think I like, but am dithering over:

Jasper
Barnaby
Kester (nn Kit)
Gwilym
Auden

Help!! Any other suggestions?

Just out of interest why can't you use Gabriel? This is on our list...

Only because I think it sounds a bit OTT with Nathaniel - a bit too similar. Husband doesn't think so though, and who knows, I might feel differently when he pops out...

What about caleb?

Your making me clucky btw, I keep imagining holding a little new born and wondering what he looks like (in terms of what name would suit him)

You may be getting tapped for some sort of bizarre child maintenance in mine months time!!!

Ezra
Asher
Emil

Ha! Your list sounded quite like mine. After spending most of my pregnancy dedicated to calling DS2 Rowan it turns out I wasn't that dedicated to it.

I have an Alex(ander) and it's a brilliant name. Nice without being pretentious, classic, lots of nn possibilities. He's the only Alex in his nursery group.

Other names than Rowan for DS2 included Theo, Nathaniel (too biblical, dont like nn possibilities), Jago, Jasper (too... posh?), Freddie (Wilfred/Frederick - husband said no), Hamish (didn't like Ham for a nn). In the end we've gone for a

... Damn, posted too soon. We went for Conrad Eadan, which we both loved but dithered over. In the end you just have to go with your gut feeling.

I like Laurence (my brother's name - means crowned with Laurel) and Hugh (DS1's middle name) and also Gabriel.

Vaughan?

Ewan is lovely (I have one!) I also have a Rory but that might not go with your R surname. What about Garrett? I also like Gregor and Hamish

I love kester but wouldn't shorten it. How about:
Clarence
Travis - absolutely love this
Preston
Harvey
Kingsley
Declan
I have an Eli & mick.

BirdintheWings · 16/11/2015 22:00

I'll offer (from among DS's friends)
Hugo
Edred
Rafferty
Tobias
Derian

Really dislike Kester but couldn't say why.

Also on our list was Lorcan.

The boys living around us are called Arthur, Arlo and Corben. Just chucking any more options I can think if into your mix.
