I am totally stuck on names for my baby girl, due any day! I want a classic, elegant name that is not too, too popular or likely to scream 'born in 2015' in 20 years time SmilePlease tell me what you think of:

Eloise
Madeleine
Imogen

Thank you!

I'm not sure how Classic it is, but I'd choose Imogen from your list.

TakesTwoToTango · 03/11/2015 22:07

Thanks poppy. Imogen is Shakespearean, if that makes it 'classic'..?

Imogen is VERY popular.

I prefer Madeleine from your list.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 03/11/2015 22:11

Based on your criteria, I'd go for Madeleine.

I think Imogen is already having a popularity spike and might indicate 'born around 2015' in the future.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/11/2015 22:12

Madeleine.

yeOldeTrout · 03/11/2015 22:12

I don't like any of them, sorry. Classic elegant, not too popular or too 2015, I think of

Catherine
Alexandra
Victoria
Isabel / -la / Isadora
Fiona
Claudia, Beatrice,
Sophia...

Twooter · 03/11/2015 22:14

Madeleine

IguanaTail · 03/11/2015 22:15

All are lovely. I would just say that Madeleine will have to spell her name out as there are variations.

BikeRunSki · 03/11/2015 22:19

They are all very nice, but I slightly prefer Eloise.

TakesTwoToTango · 03/11/2015 22:25

Thanks all. Trout, Isabel is lovely, but with variant spellings, very high in the current E&W top 10, as is Sophia.

I don't like them but probably Eloise.

I called my baby Eve. That's timeless and classic!

IoraRua · 03/11/2015 22:53

I think all of those will date. Madeleine probably the safest out of the three. Eloise screams 2015 to me. Imogen very popular I think.

Nice names but I do feel they'd be dated....

DramaAlpaca · 03/11/2015 22:55

Of them all my favourite is Eloise.

NadiaWadia · 03/11/2015 23:16

They are three beautiful names, you have great taste. I think Madeleine is perhaps my favourite. I don't think they are over fashionable in the same way as Isabella, Amelia or one of the Eve names.

reuset · 04/11/2015 03:21

Madeleine

ExBallerina · 04/11/2015 03:28

I vote for Eloise

DeepBlueLake · 04/11/2015 04:11

Madeleine.

Mclaren37 · 04/11/2015 04:54

Imogen is fantastic. Shakespearean and classic. I like Eloise too although not quite so much, I know a few too many toddlers called Eloise. To me Madeleine is the only one the screams 2015?? Or even 2011! I know of so many little girls called Maddie, I feel like it has already dated. Having said that it's a lovely name so if you're not so worried about popularity then it's a great option.

CheerfulYank · 04/11/2015 05:01

I like them all :)

I have a Margaret and also love Frances and Louisa.

Belazu84 · 04/11/2015 10:31

Madeleine

celtictoast · 04/11/2015 10:55

Eloise

clarabellski · 04/11/2015 12:06

Madeleine

Elbelle6 · 04/11/2015 13:26

I know a Madeline who's 60, an Imogen who's 40 and an Eloise who's 17

I don't thing any scream 2015. Madeline gets called Mad or Maddy.

Imogen gets called Immie, which I like lovely Shakesperean name.

Eloise is named after the medieval nun who had the ill fated love affair but went on to be a fantastic and clever writer

I prefer Imogen. Though Cordelia and Rosalind are also great Shakesperean names

CakeRattleandRoll · 04/11/2015 13:35

My favourite is Madeleine. And none of them scream 2015 to me.

MummaGiles · 04/11/2015 13:36

I'd go for Madeleine, that would have been my name for a girl but we have a lovely baby boy.
