Help me decide! (I realise names not to everyone's taste but I love them all)

I like Bryony.

Also, I had a thread with Robyn as a possible and also didn't like the spelling and was convinced that the spelling Robin was fine so maybe consider that?

SecretWitch · 03/11/2015 00:02

Looks at self...nope still not a cat....

TempsPerdu · 04/11/2015 21:26

I don't get the cat thing either SecretWitch - apparently the most popular cat names in the UK are actually Poppy, Molly, Daisy and Bella, but no one seems to have a problem with those! www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2014/sep/16/from-poppy-to-sherlock-the-uks-most-popular-pet-names-cats-dogs

Tabitha Twitchit has a lot to answer for...

MildVirago · 04/11/2015 21:29

Tabitha or Juno. Though my autocorrect keeps turning Tabitha into Habitat.

I hear Bryony as 'Brian-y', which conjures up someone in stonewashed denims and a Kevin Keegan perm...

ChristinaParsons · 04/11/2015 21:30

My dog is called Juno. It's a dogs name. Unless you happen to be a Roman godess! Which your child prob won't be

TheDowagerCuntess · 04/11/2015 21:35

It's amazing what a film can do to a name. The Briony (spelt differently) in Atonement was awful, but I still love that name - spelt your way.

I like Tabitha too, and certainly wouldn't let the cat association put you off.

Juno I don't like it all.

SecretWitch · 04/11/2015 22:25

I do laugh as my mum adored Bewitched so I might have a sister named Samantha..Grin...happily she was not enamored with Endora!

Tirfarthoin · 04/11/2015 22:33

I love the name Juno, it was number two, after Fraya, on our list but then we had a boy..

reuset · 04/11/2015 22:35

It's more that it's a traditional, long term used, well known, name for cats (Tib/Tab/Tabby - Tabitha) vaguely like Fido or Rex, or Lassie for dogs. Who knew there was a most popular pet name list Shock I don't think it matters, though, and both Rex and Tabitha make good human names too (not Fido or Lassie, though)

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 05/11/2015 03:48

Bryony is lovely and I haven't heard of a baby Bryony for years!

bkay19 · 05/11/2015 20:48

Bryony was on our shortlist- it's still a favourite of mine but unfortunately DH only "likes" it and doesn't really love it as much as I do. By far my favourite from your 3

happydollplease · 10/11/2015 08:20

I think there is a reason why you haven't heard of a baby bryony in years Grin

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/11/2015 08:28

Why, because it's seemingly out of fashion? That doesn't mean it's not a nice nice name.

I haven't heard of a baby Joanna, Claire or Jennifer recently - but that's also just because they're out of fashion. A generation ago, everyone thought those names were gorgeous - and called all their girl babies those names...

Elis1905 · 10/11/2015 16:01

Juno reminds me of the teen pregnancy film, Bryony sounds a bit rough but Tabitha is lovely!

happydollplease · 10/11/2015 18:11

Not because it's out of fashion, because it's ugly (as lots of people on this thread have said). It's my name and to this day I'm embarrassed when I have to say it. It's just not nice, sorry. I'd take Joanna Jennifer and Claire over my name any day of the week!

Montsti · 10/11/2015 19:19

I really dislike Bryony...I find Juno a bit try hard. Tabitha is definitely my favourite of the 3.

wigglylines · 10/11/2015 19:23

I love Tabitha and Juno in equal measure.

I can't make my mind up about Bryony. When I met a woman called Bryony a few years back I thought "what a pretty name" but I think I'm not keen on it when I see it written down, if that makes any kind of sense?!

Ham69 · 12/11/2015 20:46

Love Tabitha, wouldn't bother me about the cat connection. Classic and underused IMO.
Bryony feels to me like Brian with a 'y'. Not keen.
Dislike Juno, don't like the sound at all.
