We have chosen the name Luna for our baby girl, but some friends said it sounds too posh?!?

Not posh at all.

LunaSonny · 27/08/2015 23:21

I love it Wink Wouldn't say it was posh, more 'different'

Its spanish for 'moon'

flotillas70 · 27/08/2015 23:29

Chavvy.

cocobean2805 · 29/08/2015 14:25

I quite like it. But can't use it ever, combined with our last name would dictate all kinds of unkind nicknames and the poor kid would essentially be 'moon moon'

Not posh, an unfortunate fashion trend at the moment. Have only heard it used in real life as the name of people's dogs, actually. The fact it's a diminutive of Lunatic is more than enough to put me off. Then again, I think all 'celestial' names are a bit silly and 'much', but obviously each to their own.

"Chavvy" Flotilla? Really? More hippy, I'd have thought. It's very pretty.

MamaLazarou · 30/08/2015 09:24

I don't use the 'c' word myself but agree that it's not the most refined name. Frank Lampard has a daughter named Luna.

fruitlovingmonkey · 30/08/2015 13:57

Not posh but it is a popular name for dogs and cats in Italy. I'd avoid it if you have any sort of Italian connection.
A lot of other countries have fairgrounds called 'Luna Park' so again worth considering if you have Euro/ Aussie relatives.
Apart from that I like it!

Arsenic · 30/08/2015 14:12

Oh Mama, Frank speaks very well of you Grin

MamaLazarou · 30/08/2015 15:03

I don't care! Tell him he's dead to me!
