Cara Lucy or Helen Lucy?
Which do you prefer and why?
Surname begins with H and is 3 syllables.
Thanks.

I prefer Cara as Helen is a bit too 'sensible' for me. Plus Cara means 'friend' and that's nice and positive.

I suspect most people will pick Helen though. It's very MN Approved â„¢.

Cara Lucy.
Helen Is lovely but it doesn't fit with Lucy.

Vernonon · 07/08/2015 21:09

Cara Lucy

I like Helena Lucy a lot, but not Helen

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 07/08/2015 21:13

I prefer Cara Lucy.

Helen Lucy sounds like a first name-surname combination and I'm personally not keen on alliterative first name-surname combinations

MrsAukerman · 07/08/2015 21:14

Helen Henderson (or whatever) is alliterative which always makes me think of cheap crime fiction novels.

silverglitterpisser · 07/08/2015 21:15

Cara. Helen is quite bland.

DansonslaCapucine · 07/08/2015 21:18

Cara Lucy

I also like Helena a lot but not Helen.

Kennington · 07/08/2015 22:14

Helen Lucy sounds good to me

Cara is ok

Kitella · 07/08/2015 22:19

Really not keen on Cara, sounds a bit naff to me...

Helen is better, nice name but agree it is a bit bland.

Helena however is beautiful.

LibrariesGaveUsPower · 07/08/2015 22:26

Helen Lucy but would depend on the H surname.

Can't stand the obsession with -a ing names and think it will date badly. Helena not Helen. Isabella not Isabel. Mariella not Marie. See also -ie so Evie not Eve.

I'm not a fan of Helena ,can you tell. Grin

CherryBonBon · 07/08/2015 22:27

Cara Lucy.

Helen is so dowdy.

DramaAlpaca · 07/08/2015 22:29

Cara Lucy. Like someone else said, I love the meaning of Cara. Also, I'm not keen on alliterative first names & surnames.

ch1134 · 07/08/2015 22:33

I'm with you Libraries! Helen sounds more classic and less common to me than Helena.
Thanks for all comments so far. Nothing that swings it either way for me yet.

Thank you ch. No other bugger is these days, Grin

ch1134 · 07/08/2015 22:34

But I do love alliterative names!

I like them both but prefer Cara.

WishIWasWonderwoman · 07/08/2015 23:27

I like Helen but I don't think it fits with Lucy.

I don't like Cara as much as Helen, but it fits better with Lucy.

Which is not helpful!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/08/2015 23:36

Cara Lucy, it's more 'now', Helen is dated.

WishIWasWonderwoman · 07/08/2015 23:40

Has Helen really dated around where you live? I know two teenage Helens and a little Helen who would be seven or eight.

Sophronia · 07/08/2015 23:59

To me Cara's a bit of a 'nothing' name, whereas Helen has so much history with the Greek mythology connection etc.

Caldini22 · 08/08/2015 06:54

I would go for Cara

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/08/2015 07:26

Wish I'm in the South East; I know a lot of teenagers and absolutely no Helens! I know a ton of Helens in thrir 40's/50's.

Pixi2 · 08/08/2015 07:36

Cara.
Helen is dated. Elin has a similar sound if you like Helen. Or if it's the alliteration would Hannah work?
