I'm 40+4 and thought I had talked DH round to my favourite name but he's admitted he doesn't like it. His favourite is ok but I don't love it.

My favourite is Kit - either as it is or short for Christopher.

His favourite is Dylan.

My main problem with most boys names is that I find them too effeminate. I like determined sounding names e.g. Aaron would be a no-no.

Suggestions?

Nick - (Nicholas)
Matt - (Matthew)
Joe/Joss - (Joseph)
Jem - (James, Jeremy, Jeremiah)
Seb -(Sebastian)
Zeb - (zebidiah, zebedee)

So he doesn't like Christopher or Kit either?

I'm sure you'd find my favourites 'effeminate' so I'm trying to think of others...
Matthew
James
Thomas?

Should have said we have a Thomas Joseph already. I guess I want to avoid another biblical name. He hates Christopher which I knew already - but now saying he's not keen on Kit. I just love Kit - cute on a child and sexy/cool on a man.

I like Jem/Jeremy and Kit/Christopher but wouldn't use Kit on its own.

Dylan is okay but am not loving it. How about Dale?

Scott?
Adam?
Jude?

Thanks for the suggestions but not loving any of those. I do like Ewan, Rory and Blake very much but DH doesn't like any of them.

One we kind of both like is Frank but seems a shame to go for an 'ok' name rather than one we are both very happy with.

Any good? Have you had a look at your family tree for inspiration?

33goingon64 · 26/07/2015 21:53

I like Evan. Yes family trees have already yielded Thomas Joseph and our girl's name for this DC (Phoebe). Albert (DH's beloved grandad) will be the middle name. No others we like.

Oh dear OP Sad. Your DH I'm afraid is just plain wrong. Kit is simply the best boy's name. (I'm not biased here, it just is brilliant). Could you think of some other long name it could be short for? Sounds like the sticking point is really the Christopher, rather than the Kit. Fight for Kit, I say!
