Hoagie?

RiverTam · 22/07/2015 20:54

I think it's fine. Some if these responses are ridiculous 'is it short for horrible' 'sounds like hobby'. Error, no and not really - obviously!

ToysRLuv · 22/07/2015 20:54

If that's to me, a hoagie is a type of sub sandwich.. random, but does spring to mind for me!

twirlypoo · 22/07/2015 20:55

I know a herbie, would that be close enough as an alternative?

RiverTam · 22/07/2015 20:55

Errr, not error, bloody phone!

TopCivilServant · 22/07/2015 20:56

Really awful, sorry. Baywatch

reuset · 22/07/2015 21:01

I never watched Baywatch! David somebody was in it is all that I can recall. Was Hobie the dog?

reuset · 22/07/2015 21:04

David Hasselhoff! That's it. (thanks Google)

I only watched Knight Rider and after its time

Babyfeverdrivingmecrazy · 22/07/2015 22:27

Where did you come across the name op? I've never heard of it before.

I agree it'll be a marmite one (not to my taste personally). Good luck with your new arrival.

nooka · 23/07/2015 01:52

So how is it pronounced then?

badtime · 24/07/2015 20:02

OP, I hope you were sincere in thanking people for their comments. You asked them what they thought of a name, and they told you.

I really don't like it either. I don't like nickname-type names at the best of times, and one that looks like it is short for something but nobody knows what is the worst kind.

(I just googled, and apparently it is short for Hobart, or a surname name in itself. It is still not something I would ever call a human).
