Honest opinions on our girls shortlist.

Still very early days (not due until March!) but it's going to take forever for us to decide so we may as well start now, thank goodness boys names are sorted. DS is Samuel.

What are your thoughts on:
Victoria
Megan
Abigail
Alexis
Madeline
Paige
Savannah
Sian

Abigail was our frontrunner with DS but I have fallen in love with Victoria. Suggestions welcome, but no 'granny chick' names or anything too out there.

I love Madeline and Alexis! I like Victoria and it's definitely unusual for this generation, but it's likely to get shortened to Vicky, would that bother you?

Love the top three. A DD2 is likely to be called Megan, a DS would probably be Samuel. DD is Lucy.

Sian and Madeleine are nice.

I love alexis but think it's to in your face for where we love so I settled for Alex for my little girl I think it's cute and no others born recently that I know have used it.

I love Alexis. Love it.

I like Abigail, Victoria and Megan.

I think one of thems gorgeous but am biased...

(ps. I hate it when people call me Vicky...it's not and has never been my name. Close friends have always shortened it to Ria)

I only really like Madeline. The others are a bit murgh for me.

Victoria and Megan are quite nice.
Not mad on the others. Savannah is awful.
How about Louisa?

I love Alexis. Lexi is a cute nn.

I like Abigail and Sian.

I love Savannah.

I dislike Paige.

The others are fine.

Sian, Abigail or Madeleine (that spelling) are my favourites. Not keen on Paige. Others are OK.

I really like Victoria and Abigail. My third favourite would be Madeline.

The others are all okay although Savannah doesn't feel like a 'serious' name to me (I can't really imagine it on a professional woman, but it's not like I'd laugh if someone introduced themselves as Savannah).

But your two frontrunners are my favourites from your list. I suppose the next question would be which nicknames you like. The Victorias that I know have been called Vicky, Vic, Tory, Ria and the Abigail I know has been Abbie.

If you do want other suggestions, the Victorias and Abigails I know have sisters called Hannah, Penelope, Lucy, Claire and Rose. I don't know if any of those are what you would consider as similar?

Abigail is my favourite girls name, when our youngest was born my husband didn't really like it as much as me so we compromised on Abbie.........secretly I still think of her as Abigail

They are all lovely except Paige, which is really ugly. It's not like a name at all.

Thank you all for all your suggestions! I really like Louisa, mum's middle name is Louise so thats defiantly will be on the shortlist.

I think we'll cross off Paige and Sian, I was never mad keen on either, Paige was DH favourite and we won't easy names to pronounce.

I don't particularly like Vicky but it wouldn't stop me using Victoria, yes I love Tori as a nn as well.

Glad to hear Alexis and Abigail are getting a good reception. I hear what people are saying about Savannah, I really love it, though it is very American.
