Hi there,
Im due today with a little girl but I am driving myself crazy with which name to go for. I already have a ds called Matthew and a ds called Milly. Any thoughts on which name you prefer would be much appreciated and also any suggestions. Thanks x

Amy

Katie Smile

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 13/07/2015 14:34

All gorgeous.

One is dd's name and another was on our shortlist of 3 for dd.

And Ds has the same name as your Ds.

You have great taste! Grin

CrispyFern · 13/07/2015 14:38

Milly and Holly sound a bit too similar.

I like all three names though. They were all on my girls list!

UnspecialSnowflake · 13/07/2015 14:42

We have a Milly and a Holly in my family, both lovely names but they play together a lot and have become collectively known as Molly, so I'd probably steer clear of Holly for that reason.

For me Katie has a slight edge over Amy, but they're both nice.

Amy

sweetpeame · 13/07/2015 15:57

I like them all. DD's middle name is Amy after a family member. Would probably go with Katie as a first name though. Also gives her the option to use Kate when she's older if she wants (although I know two Katie's in their 30's and it still works fine).

ashesandfire · 13/07/2015 16:32

Katie

NadiaWadia · 13/07/2015 16:53

Katie is nice but very 'little girl'. Why not call her Katherine/Katharine/Catherine, and use Katie as a nickname. Much classier and it also gives her other options for different nicknames in later life.

Amy is really nice, but a lot of people may say it's dated now, there seem to be a lot of Amys in their 20s.

Holly is fine, but not one of my favourites.

Bexicles · 13/07/2015 16:54

Holly, so sweet.

NadiaWadia · 13/07/2015 16:55

eg I am sure Kate Middleton's parents are glad they officially named her Catherine. 'Princess Katie' just doesn't sound right.

LadyPenny · 13/07/2015 16:59

I have a Katie, she's 27 now and although I still love the name I do wish I had gone for Katherine as it sounds a bit more grown up.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 13/07/2015 17:08

Katie; love Kate!

Sophronia · 13/07/2015 19:28

Katie, but I prefer Katherine or Kate nn Katie.

AWhistlingWoman · 13/07/2015 19:30

Amy was my second choice for DD2 so it gets my vote. Like both of your other choices too though.

Biscuitsneeded · 13/07/2015 19:30

Kate - nn Katie. Holly too similar to Millie.

RiverTam · 13/07/2015 19:33

Don't really like any and I wouldn't go for another ie/y when you have one already. Kate/Katherine is nice.

fionadal · 13/07/2015 19:59

Agree with Kate/Katherine

Don't really like Holly and Amy with Millie

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 13/07/2015 20:23

All gorgeous and quite unheard of now.
I think I'd say Amy

Missymoomum · 13/07/2015 20:28

I have to say Katie as I have a Katie who was also due on July 13th 7 years ago but arrived on the 10th. I also have a Matthew so with a very biased point of view I would have to say Katie as I do think the 2 names go very well together Wink

DharmaBumpkin · 13/07/2015 20:31

I would say Katie but am biased ;) Not Amy, it sounds too close to Milly.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 13/07/2015 20:43

Holly

fairyfuckwings · 13/07/2015 20:44

Katie - again biased! Full name is Katherine but I've always called her Katie

dingit · 13/07/2015 20:46

I have a Katherine, nn Katie, who gets annoyed if she is called Kate, or Katherine Louise by me when I'm cross Smile

AmysTiara · 13/07/2015 20:50

Holly is the nicest. Amy is ok but I really dislike Katie.
