Hi there,
Im due today with a little girl but I am driving myself crazy with which name to go for. I already have a ds called Matthew and a ds called Milly. Any thoughts on which name you prefer would be much appreciated and also any suggestions. Thanks x

Amy is grim.

Katie is lovely

I would choose Katie as it stands out most beside Matthew and Milly. So when you are calling their names they are all distinctive. I think Amy and Holly blend in to Matthew and Milly too much that it would just get confusing. I know about this in my house!!

Catherine or Katherine, you can't go wrong with that, and Katie for short is fine. She has a bit of wriggle room, eg she can choose to be Katie at home, Kate to friends, Catherine at work or whatever floats her boat.

I like Amy, but it's not so versatile. Don't care for Holly.

Holly is one of my favourite names in the world - but was ruled out for DD because my best friend already has one.

Amy and Katie are also beautiful names, Amy was on my shortlist for DD but DH wasn't keen and Katie is too similar to my sister's name to use without offending either my other sister or DH's sisters Grin.

Basically, you have excellent taste. They are all lovely names!

With no other considerations, I would pick Holly.

Kate is much nicer than Katie.

Yellowbird01 · 13/07/2015 23:42

I love holly - fab name

However may be too close to milly

I would pick Katie for your dd (fine as a full name, I know plenty of "just" Katie's in professional jobs with that name!)

Seriouslyffs · 13/07/2015 23:44

All lovely. With your other names if go with Catherine.

rockybalboa · 13/07/2015 23:52

Amy.

No, sorry, wouldn't go for any of the names you suggest.
Margaret, Hazel or Abigail.

Katie (but preferably with Katherine on bc).
