Thoughts on Tallulah

Is it a bit of a marmite name? Ok for a child but not an adult? DC1 has a slightly unusual (never met another one) but not whacky name, it's often a suggestion on these boards, so it's MN approved

Actually I have just re read the Tallaluh Bankhead bio and see she could be a bit of a feminist icon

There was a St Tallulah. Surprising as it sounds like the most unsaintly name.

She was Irish and her actual name was Tuilelaith. I think she's pretty obscure though.

I love the name Tallulah. It was on my list of girls names, (we're having a boy ). Can also be shortened to so many different things to. Good choice

I'm afraid I think 'stripper name' though I do love Bugsy Malone so can't dislike it totally.

My SIL once said it would have been her choice for a girls name if she ever had girls. Can't imagine what my parents would have made of a Tallulah in the family.

I now just think of the child in 'junk food kids' and before then a stripper

My 6 week daughter is Tallulah - I appreciate it's not the norm and some won't like it however we've had nothing but compliments over her name from young and old.
It's always been my favourite name!

I quite like it along with Calypso but DH would never have entertained anything so bo-ho

I've only ever known one but she was shortened to Tilly which is much nicer if you want sugary girly names.
