What do you think of the name Pearl? Is it already or likely to become popular or date do you think? Do you know any children/babies named Pearl? Honest opinions welcome.

Don't know any young children called Pearl, but I met someone my age (18) with this name. She doesn't like it, but I think it's lovely...

i used to know a gay male couple who called themselves 'pearl and shirley' and that's all i can think of when i hear it

It doesn't sound good with my scottish accent and reminds me of tampax too as I use the pearl type.

It would be pronounced Peril round here. Otherwise I like it.

I'm also Scottish and don't like the name because we really can't pronounce it. So it is Pe-ruhl up here. Same with men called Karl - Ka-ruhl. However unless she moves to scotland it probably wouldn't be an issue!

I'm not a huge fan. Pearl smokes 60 a day and has a secret stash of gin in her handbag.

I went to school with a Pearl...she got bullied hard for many reasons including her name unfortunately.
