What do you think of the name Pearl? Is it already or likely to become popular or date do you think? Do you know any children/babies named Pearl? Honest opinions welcome.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry for all the questions. DH and I are discussing names and he's not sure on this one.

Lovley name I know one Pearl and her parents are arty / designers..

MehsMum · 07/03/2015 20:01

I heard a little girl being called that today and thought how cute it sounded.

It's not at all common - but then, I don't know many babies or small children.

Beautiful IMO

imip · 07/03/2015 20:03

I have a Pearl, she is pretty adorable Grin. I'm constantly complimented on her name, she is not the only Pearl in school either!

She's almost 5 and I still find it a very lovely name...

shenzi · 07/03/2015 20:04

I don't think it is common yet but it is pretty trendy - hipster parents have been naming their children things like Pearl and Walter for a while where I am.

SweetSorrow · 07/03/2015 20:08

Kim from eastenders just named her baby Pearl so I'd imagine it'll be a lot more popular this year.
I do think it's a really pretty name though.

TouchPauseEngage · 07/03/2015 20:09

It's beautiful but not to fluffy or girly. I love it!

twirlypoo · 07/03/2015 20:10

I love it too!

Is that the character or the actress. If you see what I mean Confused

Noooo!!! It's the character!!! Urgh!!!

imip · 07/03/2015 20:16

I obviously like the name, it's just once it's on a tv show, it takes away the 'specialness' of the name, if that makes sense!

youmakemydreams · 07/03/2015 20:18

I love it but don't ever move yo scotland. She will be forever known as peril Grin it is such a pretty name though.

PrimalLass · 07/03/2015 20:21

I'm afraid it reminds me of the SpongeBob character.

myotherusernameisbetter · 07/03/2015 20:22

I was just about to post the same as youmakemydreams

There is no way it can be used in Scotland, it sounds terrible. It's more "Per-uhl" where I live at the moment.

Viviennemary · 07/03/2015 20:23

I think it's lovely. Though I don't know anybody with that name.

SanityClause · 07/03/2015 20:27

Hmmm. Don't really like it, sorry. Just my opinion, thoug.

Murphy29 · 07/03/2015 20:28

As has been said - I'm Scottish so to me it doesn't sound great and when I've seen previous threads about the pronunciation I definitely can't say it the way I imagine you prefer! I have a pretty soft accent too so I imagine we could make it even worse up here!

I love it.

caughtinthemoment · 08/03/2015 00:07

I like it but the Eastenders connection would put me off as it's bound to have a huge surge in popularity now.

ouryve · 08/03/2015 00:10

Is it said with a husky smokers' voice?

Still a bit Corrie for me.

Castlelough · 08/03/2015 09:15

I know a 5 year old with Pearl as the middle name. It's really lovely on her.
