Help! Something like Lydia?

Help!

DC2 is due in 5 weeks and the girls name we had picked (for over 2.5yrs since DS born) has just been used by a new friend that lives opposite us!
The name which we can't use is Lydia, middle name will be Frances, and needs to go with DS name Timothy.
I hadn't even considered other girls names this time round as it was always going to be this name, please help with some suggestions!

Just use Lydia.

It doesn't matter who used it.

I used to work with a Lydia and Zelda.

So I suggest Zelda.

It doesn't matter about the school thing.

My DDs went to a small village school. Dd1 had 2 Rebecca's and 2 David's and dd2 had 2 Jasmines and 2 Jacks. It's happens all the time.Smile

You could choose another name that you don't like as much then next year someone could move into the village with the same name.

(But I'd just use Lydia).

Sophronia- both mine and my DMs names are on your list!

Liking Nina, possibly Jemima and Nadia.

Yes I was going to say Nadia - my sister was torn between Lydia and Nadia.

I've got a Lydia, some of the other names we liked are:

Saskia
Hermione
Phoebe
Katya
Nancy
Anoushka
Beatrice

But in your situation is still use Lydia. It will be your dd's name for her whole life, you will be using it all the time for the rest of your life. Don't compromise because of the kid that lives across the road.

You can still use the name! They might move away.... And even if they don't it's fine. Unless they have the same surname

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 03/02/2015 14:15

What a shame, I'd be tempted to stick with Lydia. However there are some lovely suggestions. Of those I like Sylvie best but may I add
