Help me find a really pretty, princessy girls name

DD is Sophia (DS is Noah). DD2 is arriving by section in 4 days and we still don't have a name. I LOVE the name Sophia, it's everything perfect for girl IMO. i know it will get shortened to Soph at times but that's not the worst. I can't find something I like as much for poor DD2!

DH has vetoed Poppy, Penelope (my favourite at the moment), Aurelia, Lola, Layla, Mila, Annabel, Alannah, Alexa, Phoebe, Arabella.

Names I love but don't want to use coz i don't like the shortened versions are: Juliet, Elodie, Rebecca, Eloise, Julia, Aurora, Isabella, Valentina, Vivienne, Olivia. These are the exact type of name i want but can't get around the shortenings which i really don't like.

I also love Clara but we're in Ireland and most people pronounce it differently to me (like Lara as opposed to Clar like Car -ah) and that would annoy me!

I LOVE Rosa and Elena but can't use them due to friends and family.

The only name we remotely agree on is Chloe and while it is a lovely name I'm not sure if it's fancy enough, especially as it's been so popular for so long, I'm worried it's a bit boring now.

I am a Julia and my name was never shortened by anyone all through school and even university. It does get shortened to Jules quite a bit now I'm an adult, but only by people I know really well, but it certainly isn't a name that is inevitably shortened.

I don't think all names will get shortened, so I wouldn't let that influence your choice quite so much!

I know two of them your hubby has already vetoed but at end of the day you might need to fight for the name you want. I am prepared to do it with my dh lol

Thanks all. Need to sit down and go through these. Usually if have no problem fighting DH for a name I love (I got Noah that way & if this was a boy I would have gotten Luca through pure bullying!!!) but I think the problem is that while I like lots of names, there isn't one I totally love this time so I can't get behind the fight.

I do really like Penelope but not getting great reactions when I mention it in general to people so think I'm holding back & not completely loving it.

I'm in love with the name Darcy, however as I'm a mum to two girls aged 21 and 17 it's unlikely I'm going to get to use it myself Smile

Its Princess Tiaami. Spelling is from two names stuck together, Tia and Ami, hence double A rather than double M.

I get bored and read magazines about these people in the hairdressers.

My dd is Esme-we are also in Ireland and have had lots of compliments on how unusual but feminine it is.

My lovely niece is Esme so that's out!

Sophia, Noah and Nicole sound lovely together.

(Would you be bothered by two of them sharing an initial?)
