I love Matilda, it has some fantastic namesakes. The film's awesome too. I'm not keen on Sienna, it's pretty but it only seemed to become popular after Sienna Miller became famous.

As for Emily and Rachel, Emily is extremely popular but a classic. Rachel is a bit more dated but a nice name and there probably won't be many other little Rachels about.

WrappedInABlankie · 22/11/2014 12:33

Emily over Rachel for me

Castlemilk · 22/11/2014 12:35

No, sorry. I think of the actress, or laxatives, or the utterly bland mid-brown colour.

How about Serena, Selina?

Like Matilda!

MiddletonPink · 22/11/2014 22:42

The only Sienna I know comes from a very middle class family.

squoosh · 22/11/2014 22:55

I always think of it as quite a well-to-do name too, because it reminds me of actresses Sienna Miller and Sienna Guillory who are both quite posh.

SnoringNorma · 23/11/2014 01:31

I don't mind Sienna at all. It's pretty. Prefer Tilda to Matilda. May well go on our soon to be written list.

ReginaBlitz · 25/11/2014 22:04

tilda is a make of rice?.....sienna is chavvy around here, theres a sienna in dds class at school whose mums profile pic on fb is the daughter sticking the v'S up.Pure class

flowerbum · 26/11/2014 21:48

I briefly considered this name but the laxative called senna put me off!too close.

SurfsUp1 · 27/11/2014 01:31

I'm not really sure why words like 'common' and 'chavvy' are seen as acceptable on the baby name topic.

Getting some perspective on how a name is perceived by others is why I come on here. If people think a name I'm considering is common or chivvy then that's what I want to know!!

SurfsUp1 · 27/11/2014 01:33

Sienne makes me think of the orangey-brown colour.

I wouldn't say it's chavvy so much as a bit trying-to-be-cool. Not horrible though. I prefer Savannah which seems to be in the same vein to me?

AdorableAbbie · 27/11/2014 08:58

Sienna is a nice name. but what do you think of Sheena?

squoosh · 27/11/2014 10:42

Sheena Is A Punk Rocker.

Marcipex · 27/11/2014 11:34

I only know one, a beautiful serene little girl with Bambi eyes, so I like it.
