Yea you are right, I don't think I will find a girls name I like as much as Sienna. And if I chose another name id probably always wish I'd chosen Sienna.

I associate it with kids I know of that name who are ahem spirited... So it's a no for me

Only1scoop · 22/11/2014 09:11

I've heard it screeched down the bread aisle recently Confused

It's put me off

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 09:21

Haha I recently heard someone with a child called Toby shouting 'Tobes!!' And that put me off that name ! It's funny how easily put off a name we are!
I think Sienna goes down like that other boys name I see on here before- Jayden. It's a nice name but nobody likes it for some reason!

Only1scoop · 22/11/2014 09:22

You are right Op....

If you love it then use it....it's a nice enough name.

GaryShitpeas · 22/11/2014 09:28

I called dd alexia instead of sienna btw

Bet peeps on here think that's chavvy or made up or whatever

They can fuck off Cos I love it.so basically op I say if you like it op fuck what everyone else thinks

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 09:30

Ooh I like Alexia! Love Lexy too! I think it's certain names like Alexia, Jayden, Sienna etc just aren't popular on the baby name boards! Is interesting hearing everyone's opinions though! :)

Alexia has an alternative meaning in the same vein as Amelia does.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 09:38

Alis- what do you mean? That Alexia is a made up name ?

OP posts:
Alisvolatpropiis · 22/11/2014 09:50

No, not at all.

It has an alternative medical meaning, as does Amelia. But whilst this would bother me in respect of both of the names, Amelia has long be highly popular so I may well be in a minority.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 10:03

Oh ok, I didn't know this. Ill have a quick google of what the meanings are!

OP posts:
Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 10:05

I don't think many people are aware of those medical terms.

I like the name Sienna but I always associate it with the actress who I don't really like so it's ruined for me. If you like it OP (bear in mind the meaning of the name) then use if for your DC.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/11/2014 11:12

Should have said, I think Sienna is a pretty name, even if the meaning isn't the best.

I think popularity can vary a great deal depending on where you live with any name. So whilst I know of loads, it might not be the same elsewhere.

stinkingbishop · 22/11/2014 11:21

Alexia is an inability to write (more extreme than dyslexia). A- means absence.

I knew a Venice once if you want to go down the Italian cities route. Very pretty.

mymummademelistentoshitmusic · 22/11/2014 11:24

Sienna is seen as downmarket round here - Yorkshire. But the biggest downside for me (apart from not being keen) is that it reminds me of Sienna Miller. Not keen on her.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 22/11/2014 11:41

I know a really lovely, definitely not 'chavvy' 2 year old Sienna so while it's not a name I would pick myself (I prefer traditional names) it has very positive connotations for me Smile.

1lov3comp5 · 22/11/2014 11:47

We had it on list for dc2 but he was a he so didn't use it Smile. There's a Sienna and Savannah (twins) in dd's class.

GaryShitpeas · 22/11/2014 12:08

I have a Jayden too

Grin
GaryShitpeas · 22/11/2014 12:10

(Not really. But I have a boy with a name that rhymes with Jayden in the same vein.....Wink)

WrappedInABlankie · 22/11/2014 12:16

Makes me think of the crazy girl in holly oaks that slept with her twin brother and had a baby, got locked in a basement, got another woman sectioned and stole her kids and husband, kidnapped a child and ran her dad over. If you don't watch holly oaks though it doesn't matter Wink

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 12:19

Ha ha no I've never watched Hollyoaks !

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 12:20

My husband likes Emily and Rachel. Which would you choose out of those two????

OP posts:
Riverland · 22/11/2014 12:20

Sienna reminds me of murky brown, the colour, and Senna pods.

I agree with the poster above who said Matilda is terrible.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 22/11/2014 12:22

Yea I don't think I'd go with Matilda. I like the name though but worry she might hate it!
