Hello all. I'm having trouble with picking a name for my third baby. I have a boy and girl already called alex and paige. Me and my hubby have complete different opinions on names and are really struggling to agree. I like traditional names like benjamin and Jamie for a boy and he likes geese ( sounds like geys). For me it's too wacky, what do you think? He also likes Scott and Grayson.

Ass for girls we like megan, lily, Harriet, Elizabeth and Katie. My hubby likes Sarah but I'm not too keen. Which do you think goes with alex and paige?

Opinions greatly appreciated x

Alex, Paige and Elizabeth. Alex, Paige and Max. No to Geese or any other fowel names :-)

ButterflyOfFreedom · 05/11/2014 21:27

Of all the names you've mentioned I like Jamie, Grayson, Megan & Katie.

I'd say Jamie & Megan go best with Alex & Paige.

Wheresthattoo · 05/11/2014 22:05

I like Ben and Greyson for boys and any of the girls, although Sarah least. Good luck!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/11/2014 22:09

I like Scott. Your OH's other names are hideous, imvho.

Lots of nice girls' names there - adore Harriet and Elizabeth and Sarah both nice.

Sophronia · 05/11/2014 22:38

Geese? I think Jamie and either Megan, Harriet or Sarah go best.

SurfsUp1 · 06/11/2014 01:13

Is Geese actually a name? Seriously - that would be cruel. Imagine all the chickens and ducks jokes he'd endure!

Scott is OK. Benjamin is also fine and Jamie is OK, but prefer James.

Harriet and Elizabeth would be my picks from your girl's names. Maybe Sarah as a mn?

moxon · 06/11/2014 03:33

Why would you pluralise Goose?

Wishfulmakeupping · 06/11/2014 04:41

Grayson and Scott are nice. I love Harriet and Elizabeth from the girls list

flowerbum · 06/11/2014 09:20

I'm glad you all think geese is horrible too! I don't know what he's thinking, I think it comes from character from a computer game!

I think Megan and Lily go really well with your other children's names. I also like Scott, Ben and Grayson, though not so sure Grayson 'goes'.

squoosh · 06/11/2014 12:44

GEESE?!

squoosh · 06/11/2014 12:45

I suppose it's Christmassy.

squoosh · 06/11/2014 12:46

Although you'd need six Geese to make it truly seasonal.

moxon · 06/11/2014 14:14

squoosh alas, fertility treatment ain't what it used to be...

Lunastarfish · 06/11/2014 17:56

Scott and Megan.

pilates · 06/11/2014 18:11

Your DH's names are awful, sorry.

Like your girls names, Harriet, Lily and Elizabeth are gorgeous.

I prefer James to Jamie and Benjamin is nice.

burgatroyd · 06/11/2014 18:12

Geese is growing on me....

How about Ghislain, Geese for short?

florascotia · 06/11/2014 18:41

But Gislaine does not really sound like 'Geese'.

Ghislain is usually said 'Gizll-ayne' or 'Sheezz-layne'. For some examples

He still thinks geese is a guide idea:(

DH could always change his own name to Geese if he likes it that much, flowerbum!

Benjamin, Jamie (or even James) and Scott are all great names. Not keen on Grayson - it sounds dull, IYSWIM.

All the girls names are lovely.

flowerbum · 07/11/2014 20:30

Good idea katiekaye, I will suggest it!

I like Benjamin and any of your girls names.

Geese is ridiculous.

If you want more for the short list try a website called Named Together. It gives you each a list of the top 100/200 or 500 names and you tick any you like ( separately) then it finds any you agree on. Try agreeing to tick at least 20 possibilities for each sex from the top 500. I guarantee Geese will not feature! My DH and I have quite different taste and this site gave us something to work with.

mathanxiety · 08/11/2014 05:47

lol to Geese, Geys or whatever it is. The phrase 'like shit through a goose' would acquire a whole new meaning at a 2 am nappy change.

Benjamin, Scott, Katie, Sarah and Elizabeth are nice.

Grayson is a horrible name, imo.

merlehaggard · 08/11/2014 06:02

I don't like Geese, Scott or Grayson but like all the girls names. My mother in law was called Sarah and we used it as a middle name. The name has grown on me though as a first name.

yazz21 · 08/11/2014 20:42

Geese, even though its supposed to be pronounced Gees I don't think people will realise that. Especially on paper people will think his name is Geese like the bird. I like Lily, Scott and Jamie. Grayson sounds like a last name to me.
