Grateful for your thoughts on our shortlist:

Nia
Alys
Bethan
Eilidh (pronounced Ay-lee)
Arianwen (we'd call her Ari for short)
Arianne (again, Ari for short)

Some context: We are in London. Surname is double-barrelled. We're happy all the above are culturally relevant for us :)

My friend has an Eilidh - absolutely adore her! Such a gorgeous name, and never met another one :)

Also love Arianne or Arianna?

Also love Bethan

Congratulations by the way x

I love Bethan being welsh. Also Alys. But was concerned about alys causing spelling issues in england (where we live) and I despise how many English pronounce Bethan (beth-unn rather than beth-ann) and for those reasons these names ended up on our middle names lists. We had a boy!

Sophronia · 05/11/2014 16:44

Arianwen is my favourite, followed by Bethan and Alys.

Artandco · 05/11/2014 16:45

Arianne or Alys

espa · 05/11/2014 17:09

Eilidh. It's a great name.Smile

TheLostPelvicFloorOfPoosh · 05/11/2014 17:11

They're all beautiful but my favourite is Arianwen.

Congratulations! Thanks

Pebbles0934 · 05/11/2014 17:14

Nia or Bethan

Belazu84 · 05/11/2014 17:23

I like Arianne!

brimfullofasha · 05/11/2014 17:25

Love Bethan

PitchSlapped · 05/11/2014 17:26

Nia and alys are gorgeous

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 05/11/2014 17:47

Arianne is lovely. Love the n.n Ari, too.
Love Nia as well.

Bin85 · 05/11/2014 17:51

Bethan is my favourite

BuckskinnedAstronaut · 05/11/2014 17:57

Nia.

I love Alys as well (and like that spelling) but people will spell it Alice her whole life and there's a good chance that that will gradually drive her to distraction (I have a name that was almost always spelled wrongly throughout my childhood).

BeccadeWinter · 05/11/2014 18:01

Congratulations to you!

I think all of your choices are lovely, though I do think Nia is little insubstantial.

kiwiscantfly · 05/11/2014 18:05

Eilidh, I have one and there are no others where we live (out of Scotland) and once people have it explained they all love it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/11/2014 18:06

Alys or Arianne - lovely. Arianwen is really pretty sound-wise but less fond of how it looks on the page (fussy!).

DisgruntledAardvark · 05/11/2014 18:07

Arianwen is really beautiful, I think.

Alisvolatpropiis · 05/11/2014 19:17

Alys or Nia

BlueStarsAtNight · 05/11/2014 19:18

My favourite is Arianne. I really like Alys too, and like it spelled that way, but think it would drive me mad people always spelling it wrong.

Elllimam · 05/11/2014 20:15

Love Bethan, it's in my top 5 if my next is a girl xx

DramaAlpaca · 05/11/2014 20:20

I like them all, but am least keen on Bethan and Arianwen.

Arianne and Eilidh are my favourites.

ashesandfire · 05/11/2014 20:22

Bethan or Eilidh for me

BikeRunSki · 05/11/2014 20:24

Nia, and I say that as an Alice. I have dabbled with Alys and Ailis spellings.

Smartiepants79 · 05/11/2014 20:25

Ariannwen or Bethan for me!

Surf25 · 05/11/2014 20:31

Eilidh

Congrats!
