No... Please don't redirect me to weaning.
Stumbled across My Imaginary Well Dressed Toddler Daughter, a spoof. She's called Quinoa. Its a fab name. If only it wasn't a super food.
Why am I attracted to product names!!!

Site is hilarious.
Quinoa. Am I alone in thinking this is a fantastic (sounding) name?

burgatroyd · 08/07/2014 18:35

Twee, the 'mama' of Quinoa is Tiffany Beveridge!

burgatroyd - very very clever. Just been and had a look. What a wizard wheeze.

Bluestocking · 08/07/2014 20:25

I like these for a boy:
Durian
Marcassin
Okonomiyaki

And these for a girl:
Maracuja
Cachaça
Falooda

Bluestocking - I thought I was a foodie but i've just had to look up every single word! I must have become a total bumpkin....

Bluestocking · 08/07/2014 21:52

Hi Twee - I bet you know loads of foodie words I don't know! How could anyone stay abreast of the whole world's foodie vocab?!

TweeAintMee · 08/07/2014 22:54

You are too kind! Sadly I think my world has shrunk. I'll have to peep out occasionally. Until the kids leave home, I'll have to use the WWW to browse exotic foods....seriously tempted by the loos of Okonomiyaki!

TweeAintMee · 08/07/2014 22:55

Aaaah autocorrect! Blush "look" NOT "loos".

Camsie30 · 08/07/2014 23:09

I like her pals Spirulina and Aga

burgatroyd I know a Lenore, she was about 2 when Lenor came out.

Saganoren · 09/07/2014 10:10

I know a Quinoa in LA. Seriously

burgatroyd · 09/07/2014 10:37

Seriously!!! That had made my day.

DP and I often used to joke that we wanted twins called Quinoa and Tahini. Would work brilliantly, as DP is a massive foodie, plus there's extra snob value in that not many people would be able to pronounce it properly. Might get a bit confusing in Waitrose though.

Our hippy alternatives were boy/girl twins called Xanadu and Shangri-La.

AllHailTheBigPurpleOne · 09/07/2014 16:40

Tena?
Tagine?
Snickers?
Haribo?

aoife24 · 09/07/2014 19:43

I so much prefer Bulgar, far less common.

Hakluyt · 09/07/2014 19:46

My imaginary twins are Halcyon and Sequoia.

Catsmamma · 09/07/2014 19:50

Polenta and Semolina are excellent girl twin names.

Catsmamma · 09/07/2014 19:52

Arborio and Carnaroli for boys of course

Older siblings to Basmati. (non gender specific)

LEMmingaround · 09/07/2014 19:56

Candida!!
Freekah -a brother for quinoa?

JennyOnTheBlocks · 09/07/2014 20:03

Crevette would be a smashing non gender specific name, but I think Polenta would be a girls name

TweeAintMee · 09/07/2014 20:31

aoife - you are good!

TweeAintMee · 09/07/2014 20:31

My DH has just suggested Samphire - just too delish
