Beautiful. Vivi is so sweet for a little girl and Vivienne is utterly gorgeous for a grown up. I like Viv too. Ignore the critics!!

I love it and wanted it for DC3 (who turned out to be a boy anyway!). DH said he couldn't get past the Young Ones link Hmm.DH is clearly wrong!

I've got one, and no regrets!

We didn't tell anyone what we were thinking beforehand and we could tell it was a 'grower' on some people shall we say, but we loved it, had our own reasons for choosing it and couldn't think of her having been anything else, and everyone loved it too once it was on a shiny chubby baby!

It really suits her, as do the diminutives, but we knew of no one with the name so didn't have any of the connotations some seem to have. I quite enjoy yelling "Vyvyan!!!" A la Rik Mayall anyway. And we've never bumped into Angelina in Waitrose, so no awkwardness there either Grin

Sootgremlin · 10/07/2014 13:36

Should say also we've had nothing but positive responses from strangers, particularly the older generation have always seemed surprised and pleased that we've used a more old fashioned name that they're familiar with.

It's a beautiful name, strong and elegant and classy. I wanted to shortlist it for our DD but it was a bit much with our long surname.

Is Vivi pronounced vee-vee or vivvy?

burgatroyd · 10/07/2014 16:14

I prefer the softer sounding, Spanish varient. Bibiana.

Brummiegirl15 · 10/07/2014 19:49

Vintage I absolutely love it!!!

Beautiful name, it's on my list too - and I'm from the West Midlands too. Couldn't give a toss what others think, you go for it!!!

ViviPru · 10/07/2014 22:42

Squoosh, guess it depends, but I'm most definitely Vivvy Smile

Only1scoop · 10/07/2014 22:43

Love it

fedupofrainydays · 11/07/2014 07:54

Love it. On my short list if we have a girl. Not sure DH is with me on it but we shall see!

fedupofrainydays · 11/07/2014 07:56

Ps. Nothing wrong with 'viv' - you don't necc have to make everything 'cutsey' as it's a little girl.
