How would you pronounce Mateo?

Just that really, how would you pronounce it and what do you think as a name? Would be a brother for Luca if we decide to go with it.

Thanks for all the responses think we may finally have a name for dc4!!!( if it's a boy which I have a strong feeling it is) I really like tayo as a nickname too. Thinking of a name for this one has been so hard as we've already used everything that we like!!
Hmm now we just need to come up with a possible girls name too Grin

Just wanted to say I love this name. It doesn't go with our surname or I'd most definitely use it.

Ma (short vowel like apple) - tay - oh

It's lovely. I know a Mateosz (sp?) (Mat - ay-osh) - polish and a French/ Brazilian Mathias (pronounced Matt-ee-ass)
