Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 20:51

I'm trying for a baby!! Yipee, so I'm already getting a massive head start on baby names! So far me and the partner have thought about goku and luna. Anymore kind of names like this that people know of?????? :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Clargo55 · 14/06/2014 20:56

I like Luna, but I would worry about her bing called Lunatic.

How would you pronounce Goku?

WaffleWiffle · 14/06/2014 20:57

Luna is becoming more popular. Not heard of Goku though, is it a boy or girl name?

Unusual names - what about:

Red
Echo
Cleo
Jupiter

soontobeslendergirl · 14/06/2014 20:59

I take it you are a Manga/Anime fan?

Gohan?
Rukia

My partner is haha! And pronounced go-koo I guess haha, echo sounds good, and yes every name I think of I seem to find some kind of bad thing/nickname about it

My son is so I recognised the reference - I also know far too much about pokemon for a middle aged non Japanese woman :o

Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:04

Oh and goku as a boys name :)

OP posts:
Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:05

Haha! He's a dragon ball-z fan;) I think it's slightly geeky but ah it has a ring to it, first I thought he was mad when he said the name, but I've taken a liking to it haha

OP posts:
idontlikealdi · 14/06/2014 21:08

Awful. What if they're not into that and are stuck with a name.

Luna is marginally less bad than goku.

Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:10

Thankyou for the opinion
I do feel that there is always a chance of your child not liking their name. But I will take that onboard, thankyou!

I'm just wondering if you're a teenager, Littledolly?

I used to play What Shall I Call My Future Child when I was 13.

Wink
soontobeslendergirl · 14/06/2014 21:11

yes, my son likes Dragon Ball but probably prefers Naruto.

Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:11

Haha no Smile but I used to genuinely imagine having a little girl called princess when I was a teenager haha! I have now seen the errors in my ways

"I used to play What Shall I Call My Future Child when I was 13"

So did I, I think everyone did! I remember those all-female sextuplets being born (can't remember their surname just now). I spent hours working out what I would call my six daughters.

soontobeslendergirl · 14/06/2014 21:14

Waffle ironically I think they were the Waltons.

Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:15

Or when you liked a boy at school and you put their last name with your first name and then thought of baby names to match it! Haha

Dizzywhore · 14/06/2014 21:16

Luna is awful! I like an unusual name but some of those lol
How about picking a name that your DC won't hate you for in years to come?!

Littledollylolly · 14/06/2014 21:20

I think Luna isn't that bad but thankyou for your opinion! Haha

I think Luna is fine but not a fine of Goku at all. I've never heard of it as a name. I guess I would assume it was a name from a non British culture if I saw it written down.

Kairi is anime/Japanese/geek-related (Kingdom Hearts) :)

I was adamant when I was 13 that if I had a DD, she'd be called Kairi.

She isn't Grin
