Ours is Victor (after Victor Jara) and Glenn (after our favorite neighbor)

Felix. I really wanted it. DS says he would have liked it too. But then he reckons Gavin is a cool name, so what does he know?

Bowlersarm · 21/06/2014 17:47

Joe, popular but I now love that name.

Marnie, the Dd I was destined not to conceive!

MadameDefarge · 21/06/2014 17:49

Ha, Bowlers, mine is Joe!

CapitalWasteland · 21/06/2014 17:58

Thea, the daughter I will never have!

Still sort of think ds1 would've made a great Conor despite how common it is in his year. We have a Mc name & thought it would be cool for him to say he's Conor McX of the clan McX! (we probably like Highlander a bit too much!)

Bowlersarm · 21/06/2014 17:59

MDefarge - one group of friends I meet up with all have a Joseph. (Three of them plus me) I am so envious. Although one has a definite Joseph and hates it being shortened, one doesn't mind either Joseph/Joe, and one definitely wants Joe. It's a minefield!

Me, I would have a Joseph mainly called Joe.

Clementine ... She would have been Clemmie. I absolutely love it as a name, but DH didn't & he ended up delivering DD. He did such an amazing job that I felt mean to impose a name that he hated. Dd does suit her real name (& for the record is glad we didn't name after a fruit...!)

MadameDefarge · 21/06/2014 18:06

I do love it really!

ComeHeather · 21/06/2014 18:15

Gabriel as a first name for DS1
Ruth as a middle name for DD
Mary as a first name for DD

Not especially religious but love biblical names.

IceRocket · 21/06/2014 18:17

I like Joel but I also like the name we chose for ds and dp chose dd's name I would have preferred Delilah or mariella, but she really does suit her name.

Thurlow · 21/06/2014 18:24

I want a Decca. I desperately want a Decca. Decca Mitford was awesome.

Sadly no one else but me thinks it is actually a name. Also it's short for Jessica, which I neither like nor can actually say!

NewtRipley · 21/06/2014 18:37

Asa

Matthew

Should have used either of these for DS2

mathanxiety · 21/06/2014 19:36

Bridget or Brigid for DD3. I would have called her Biddy for short. It would have suited her down to the ground, and I have loads of relatives who would have been tickled to have her named after them.

SongsAboutB · 21/06/2014 19:44

I didn't name my DC as we adopted them and kept their names, we added a middle name but those were family names. Both DC are birth-first-name grandparent-name birth-surname our-surname.

If I had been naming them they would have been Ralph (pronounced Rafe) and Celeste. Actually I think that DS is better with the name he has than he would have been with Ralph, but DD would really suit Celeste.

MagratGarlik · 21/06/2014 23:50

I still love the names we gave both our ds's, but if there would be a ds3 (there won't - I'm old) I'd call him Gabriel. I'd have loved Louisa for a girl, but even if I'd had a girl, that name was already taken by family.
