DH and I are expecting DD2 and my favourite name is Piper but DH is not 100%
What are your opinions on Piper? DD1 is Violet and my other possibilities are
Hazel
Tallulah
Felicity
Matilda
Ottilie

Thanks!

potato
oil rig

can't believe gillian anderson named her daughter piper Maru, that is so close to piper maris.

I know a 13 yo old Piper and she is THE coolest girl. Funny, super smart, feisty and drop dead gorgeous. So, that's what I think when I hear the name and totally love it.

RyvitaBerry · 29/05/2014 23:05

also, close to the french for a blow job i think.

Hazel is lovely.

A pipe is a blow job in French. In French, it immediately evokes the idea of giving someone a blow job.

LOVE Piper.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 30/05/2014 09:29

Like it. Just not sure if it 'goes with' Violet. Sorry to be awkward.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 30/05/2014 09:31

Re: your other favourites I'd pick Felicity and Ottilie.

UriGeller · 30/05/2014 09:35

The other names are awful! Especially 'Facility', Hazel and Ottilie which all sound like brands of toilet air freshener

Piper is quite sweet though. You should definitely go with Piper and throw out all the others on your list.

Violet is a lovely name - not so sure about Piper. Partly because it repeats the 'i' sound at the start of Violet, and the two names called out together might just sound a bit matchy-matchy.

Secondly, to some people - me included, I'm afraid - the word Piper conjures up the instant mental picture of a large man in a kilt playing the bagpipes. Rather a contrast to a pretty purple Violet flower!

I prefer your other choices; there is also Felicia as well as Felicity.

WordOfTheDay · 31/05/2014 17:26

Oh and to pipe (pijp - prounced "pipe") is also to give a blow job in Dutch.

manicinsomniac · 31/05/2014 23:06

I love Piper, Felicity and Matilda.

Quite like Hazel and Ottilie

Not keen on Tallulah

RabbitSaysWoof · 31/05/2014 23:33

It's lovely.
