DP wants this for DC2 if he's a boy, but I'm not convinced....

Help convince me...or not!

Really dislike it.

meditrina · 03/05/2014 21:11

As long as you don't have (or go on to have) a Netty, Willy or Fanny it's fine.

MuttonCadet · 03/05/2014 21:12

Love it

noblegiraffe · 03/05/2014 21:12

Is it to be pronounced Lewis or Louie?

I've come across a few at school, with it pronounced differently. Could be irritating I suppose.

LadyWithLapdog · 03/05/2014 21:13

Love it.

Cataline · 03/05/2014 21:15

I was going to ask same thing about pronunciation noble

flipflopsonfifthavenue · 03/05/2014 21:18

Would be pronounced loo-ee.

I really like it.

Piddlepuddle · 03/05/2014 21:31

Lovely name!

CleverOl10 · 03/05/2014 21:37

It can be confusing how to pronounce - at my school there are boys who pronounce it both ways and get annoyed if you get it wrong. Might be annoying. Although I think it should be said Louie, right?

evamummy · 03/05/2014 22:57

I know a Louis who pronounces it the English way, Lou-is. And a Luis.
It's not a name I particularly like.

evamummy · 03/05/2014 23:00

Also, doesn't the French pronunciation sound like loo (ie)?!

BumpNGrind · 03/05/2014 23:13

Hup · 03/05/2014 23:25

There are lots of Louis' about - if that's something that bothers you, pronounced both ways. I teach 5 - 4 are loo-ee and I Lewis

scottishmummy · 03/05/2014 23:27

Louis=loo-ee
Lewis=loo-is

Hup · 03/05/2014 23:36

You'd think scottishmummy but not always the case!

scottishmummy · 03/05/2014 23:38

Love both names, but to me theyre v different pronunciation

HenI5 · 03/05/2014 23:42

Every time I read or hear Louis these days a picture of Louis Walsh's little face pops into my head.
Sorry.

Alisvolatpropiis · 04/05/2014 00:37

I came on to say I really liked it,especially as you are intending to pronounce it correctly.

People commonly pronouncing Louis as Lewis doesn't make it right, it just makes a fair few people wrong.

However Hen has just totally ruined the name for me.

RonaldMcDonald · 04/05/2014 00:51

Love it

LittleRedDinosaur · 04/05/2014 01:16

Love it but people will definitely keep calling him Lewis
