I'm a teacher and have children with a wide range of names at school but I think Destiny and Foreva are the worst. Anyone else come across any other Just No names?

No to naming twin girls Vanilla & Cinnamon

or siblings being called Adam & Eve, Sam & Ella, Holly & Ivy etc

no to Adolf, Jezabel, Lucifer, Fox, Hero, Hades, Snake, Storm, Cloud or Anger

StampyIsMyBoyfriend · 28/04/2014 22:21

Harley... surname Davidson...

He's never out of detention, poor bugger.

siblingrevelryagain · 28/04/2014 22:26

In our town there's a 'princess Aureola on board'...

Their are heaps of Braxton's in Australia due to the Braxtons' off Home and Away.

Their is a Saint Claire in DD's class, which is the name of a beach where we live, though tbf she was born in the USA.

nonameisgoodname · 29/04/2014 08:27

I went to school with a child called Boyd and another called Dustin. They also had slightly humorous surnames. It only occurs to me as an adult that they were odd names.

Definitely in my "no" pile now.

LittleBairn · 29/04/2014 09:15

Everytime I read these threads my first thought is about how bitchy and unprofessional some teachers can be about there students and their families.

ZingWatermelon · 29/04/2014 09:17

must be a nice release after dealing with a bunch of brats all day!Grin

MarianneBrandon · 29/04/2014 12:43

Four pages in and no mention of La-a pronounced Ladasha. That always gets mentioned on these name bashing threads Angry

Little

Presumably OP is posting out of work hours and revealing no details.

Teachers are just that, teachers. Not paragons of virtue.

I knew a little boy called Randy. Definitely a 'just no'.

sonlypuppyfat · 29/04/2014 16:29

Must admit I've taken the piss out of enough teachers!

Ubik1 · 29/04/2014 16:32

Tupac

Al Capone

Violet Fluorescent Green

alita7 · 29/04/2014 17:45

don't see why teachers can't have a bit of fun, anyone who works at with people can join in :p or indeed who knows people...

It's taking the piss out of the parents really.

Kid has a dodgy name and the general consensus is "poor child".

Besides this the Internet, just because someone says they are a teacher doesn't mean it's true.

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/04/2014 18:21

Fwiw my dp is a teacher (don't have to believe me Grin) and has indeed been put off names by children he has taught.

Not the stereotypical ones either.

But I suppose this thread isn't quite about the same thing.

BorsetshireBlue · 29/04/2014 18:26

Boudica - I could put up with the name if they didn't pronounce it Bow-dee-sha

There was a little girl called Sparkle on the local news just now.

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/04/2014 19:15

The ones my dp dislikes are vast and varied everlong, very much influenced the children/teenagers he has taught.

But rarely the stereotypical ones that people merrily trot out eg Jayden.

As it goes I like Jayden. Prefer the original biblical spelling Jadon but same difference, it sounds the same.

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 29/04/2014 22:12

Bring on the crazy names I say.

I like a bit of excitement.

SirChenjin · 30/04/2014 10:37

Yeah, I agree, bring them on - I like a laugh Grin

Montsti · 30/04/2014 12:09

I find these threads entertaining tbh. What always makes me laugh are the hypocrites who label people snobs etc..for commenting on those who do not like certain names and then themselves criticize people for naming their children so-called "boring" names!! Don't you see that you are just as bad, judging people for their name choices.

skinmysunshine · 30/04/2014 12:14

There is a Sodapop in my friend's daughter's class. I know it's from a cult book/film but it is still too much.
