Can't choose dd2 name...thoughts?

Although I change my mind every five minutes, first world problems of course,
I keep coming back to 2 names for #2. Dd1 is Gracie Joy. Second babe will have a nod to my sis with middle name.
But please offer opinions for a first;
Ivy Angeline or
Lola Angeline.

I know there will be derogatory responses to Lola due to the Kinks song. But that's not of concern to us, we still like the name.
Just interested on preferences between the 2. :) thanks!

I haven't heard the Kinks song, so can't comment from that perspective.

I love Ivy. My DH won't consider it though [grumpy]

PenguinBear · 18/04/2014 03:03

Lola :)

Gugglebum · 18/04/2014 03:24

I like Ivy and Lola about the same, but I think Ivy Angeline sounds better together.

aMashedUpPhraseWithGravy · 18/04/2014 04:11

Agree with Gugglebum. Ivy Angeline has a great ring to it.

notadoctor · 18/04/2014 04:55

I absolutely love Ivy. It was our first choice for number 2 but he turned out to be a boy!

Graciejoylove8 · 18/04/2014 05:19

Thank you! I agree Ivy Angeline flows better. I've just always had a soft spot for Lola

@alpacayourthings, you must be fortunate enough to be younger than me!! Hehe

I would go with Ivy, I like Lola but prefer Ivy and think it goes better with your dd1 name.

NomDeClavier · 18/04/2014 19:17

I love Ivy Angeline. Really lovely combination :)

Definitely Ivy. I don't think Lola Angeline flows well at all, it's awkward to say with the a-a.

soontobeslendergirl · 18/04/2014 19:52

I prefer Lola and it goes better with Gracie too.

Gracie and Ivy both have similar sounding endings which won't matter in the long run as they wont be going round as a twosome for their whole lives, but it sounds a bit twee when they are little and you refer to them together quite a lot.

Ivy is also a bit too Coronation street for my taste.

soontobeslendergirl · 18/04/2014 19:54

...and I know you don't want to deviate from the names you have, so not going to suggest any new ones, was just going to say that Angeline is lovely and if it didn't cause family issues, I'd have picked that for a first name :o

DessieLou · 18/04/2014 21:01

Ivy Angeline is so pretty!

squoosh · 18/04/2014 21:10

Ivy.

Lola is a bit stripperish. Also, I'm amazed there are people unfamiliar with the song!

Twighlightsparkle · 18/04/2014 21:14

Lola

Harrin · 18/04/2014 22:33

I prefer Lola and think it goes better with your other daughters name.

Ivy sounds better with your chosen middle name though and it's very pretty

NannyPlumForPM · 18/04/2014 22:40

I like the 'v' sound of ivy angeline but prefer Lola :) I do prefer Lola evangeline but obviously that wasn't your question Easter Grin

Graciejoylove8 · 19/04/2014 00:04

Haha.... All of your responses are what my poor little brain does each day. All points have their merit. I have 38 other names as a 'back up'
But we'll just have to meet her first I imaging.
Gracie was a Poppy until I held her in my arms.

@soontobelendergirl, I'm not opposed to new suggestions, feel free!
Chances are I've got them on a list somewhere; being a total nameberry addict! :)
Cheers everyone

In that case I am going to suggest Sylvia.

Gracie Joy & Sylvia Angeline

FatFrumpyFilly · 19/04/2014 00:21

Prefer Lola but Ivy goes better with your middle name option

Graciejoylove8 · 19/04/2014 04:52

I like Sylvia/Sylvie!
Unfortunately our last name starts with G.
Middle name will start with A.
That rules out first names starting with;
B, D, F, G, H, N, R, S, V

??

and W

Varfalli34 · 19/04/2014 06:28

We're calling our forthcoming DD ivy. I think Lola is also beautiful but PACKS of children are called that now

MrsM2509 · 19/04/2014 07:41

I dunno if you'd think of this one, not sure if I like it or not, but I know a girl whose name is evangeline, but gets called Evie

soontobeslendergirl · 19/04/2014 09:40

I think I have solved the initials thing.....

I'm presuming your sister is Angela. Angela comes from Angel, Gabriel was an Angel. Gabrielle is the female form of Gabriel. Soooooo......

Sylvia Gabrielle. Job done! :o
