Although I change my mind every five minutes, first world problems of course,
I keep coming back to 2 names for #2. Dd1 is Gracie Joy. Second babe will have a nod to my sis with middle name.
But please offer opinions for a first;
Ivy Angeline or
Lola Angeline.

I know there will be derogatory responses to Lola due to the Kinks song. But that's not of concern to us, we still like the name.
Just interested on preferences between the 2. :) thanks!

I really wouldn't worry too much about initials to be honest Smile

Out of your choices though, I prefer Ivy. I think it works better with Gracie.

You're very good at this @soontobelendergirl :)
She is indeed an Angela (and an Angel by nature) Unfortunately I really don't like Gabrielle. Not sure why.
But that certainly would have solved the problem! :)

If I could sell the following to the other half these would be in contention;
Anouk, Marcella, Juniper, Juno, Juliette, clementine, Isadora, Minnie, Clara...
We are in Australia and these are not yet in the popularity race. Although I think they will gain pace as we often follow uk trends.

If you're ruling out on the grounds of initials, do you not need to rule out Juliette/Juniper/Juno too? And Minnie?

Gracie and ivy are so lovely together p

I didn't think J.A.G was too horrendous - my dad is in aviation so I associate it with that.
M.A.G doesn't seem offensive either unless I'm missing something??

Lola. I think it is lovely with the middle name too.

alita7 · 19/04/2014 23:30

I like ivy Angeline BUT I prefer lola evangeline is that close enough?

Graciejoylove8 · 22/04/2014 13:37

Thanks, all very helpful.
Today I discovered Maribel, Keeva and Maven, and added to the list. :( so hard to choose!!

Malorie?

Caoimhe is Keeva right?

Graciejoylove8 · 23/04/2014 12:05

Yes! Caoimhe, love it. Alas, down in oz they wouldn't recognise a Gaelic name. (Well rarely, there's a few expats around) :)
I would anglicise it to Keeva, Keava or Keavy?
Very pretty meaning, and I like that it's rare - at least here.

Malory/mallory/malorie is sweet. But don't like the latter spelling - too much like calorie - smiles.

I wouldn't have this much trouble with a boy; we've had the same name picked for 3 years!

Just in case it matters, 'maven' also means an expert, or someone who offers advice. So you might get (for eg) a 'business maven' or a 'fashion maven'.
