Like it? Love it? Or politely not for you?

Like it.

williaminajetfighter · 07/04/2014 00:25

Try to love it but hate the 'clod' sounds - it's so hard - and can't get over the fact that a 'clod' means a dull/stupid person. Sorry!!!

FrumiousBandersnatch · 07/04/2014 00:27

Love it.

hardbeingme · 07/04/2014 00:28

love it. allowed myself to be talked out of it as it means 'lame' but honestly who the hell cares?! (still slightly cross almost 6 years later)
without a doubt it would be next dds name

NadiaWadia · 07/04/2014 00:53

It sounds like 'clawed-ia', not 'clod-ia'. Or the more European pronunciation is 'cloud-ia'. It's lovely. I would ignore that meaning!

SoonToBeSix · 07/04/2014 01:27

I think it's a beautiful name unfortunately dh doesn't.

AlpacaYourThings · 07/04/2014 01:42

Politely not for me. I know it is very popular on MN though Smile

ItsNotATest · 07/04/2014 01:58

I like it a lot.

Tbh these days anything that is an actual name, spelt correctly, just stands out. I come across some real horrors Sad

aGirlDownUnder1 · 07/04/2014 05:59

I like the name a lot.

lolalotta · 07/04/2014 06:02

Dd has a little friend at nursery called it! I love it! Grin

OooOooTheMonkey · 07/04/2014 06:05

Politely not for me but really only because it reminds me of Claudia Winkleman and her stupid fringe Hmm
It's a nice name though!

RoadToTuapeka · 07/04/2014 06:21

I like it only when pronounced Cloud-i-a but some people I know think it sounds pretentious like that. However I dislike the hard Clawd-i-a sound. For me it's a name that is lovelier in my head than when I actually hear it.

WhispersOfWickedness · 07/04/2014 06:23

I love it Smile

smokeandglitter · 07/04/2014 16:11

Politely not for me Smile. It's just a but harsh sounding to me, but I do know a Claudia who it suits wonderfully, I just wouldn't use it.

HyvaPaiva · 07/04/2014 16:12

Love

cakegoblin · 07/04/2014 16:16

absolutely love it

SpawningSalmon · 07/04/2014 16:38

Love love LOVE it. Sadly it sounds awful with my last name. Sad

Sleepingbunnies · 07/04/2014 16:55

I love it. I want it should we ever have another girl... DP vetoed it :(

findingherfeet · 07/04/2014 17:07

V pretty name!

rachel234 · 07/04/2014 21:23

Politely not for me. I find it harsh sounding and dislike the imo obvious Latin meaning (claudus - disabled, lame).

Tulipsandclogs · 07/04/2014 21:25

Love

ToffeeMoon · 07/04/2014 21:58

Oh Rachel234 perhaps you've studied too much Latin? As you would say Wink on every thread where Claudia is mentioned. I know because I've spent today reading them! You are like a heat-seeking missile. Do you do a daily scan of the baby name threads just in case there's an opportunity to spout off about it?

Tell me, what was the "meaning" of the name before the a emperor with the bad leg? Or was it just serendipity that he had a limp?

Love it!

MirandaGoshawk · 07/04/2014 22:01

It wouldn't be my first choice but I think it sounds very classy. I know a lovely Claudia, she's known as Claud (pronounced Clawd).

Bowlersarm · 07/04/2014 22:02

Love it. The lame thing only ever comes up on MN, ignore it OP. I know several gorgeous young Claudia's and a good friend, a 40 something year old Claudia.
