Hiya,
Current front runner for my little girl is Phoebe.
Looking for some really pretty possibly flower maybe a bit granny feminine middle names to go with it.

Love names like
Willow
Daisy
Blossom
Emily
Betty

But don't think any of them go particularly well with Phoebe?

What are some other names along these lines?

Thank you
Xx

I knew an Amaryllis once! That goes quite well.

I think, lyrically, you need a mn with either one syllable or three/ideally four.

Phoebe Rose, because my DD's middle name is Rose so I'm biased. Smile

zipzap · 11/03/2014 09:50

Phoebe Mirabelle (well, it's a plum but they have pretty blossom obsolete there's still a floral connection!

cattypussclaw · 11/03/2014 09:50

Phoebe Rose. I think you need a one-syllable name after Phoebe.

And [snort] to Phoebe Snowdrop or Foxglove. Bonkers!

Mrsindecision · 11/03/2014 09:57

Phoebe Belle
Phoebe Ivy
Phoebe Rose
Phoebe Willow

All flow well imo.

Thank you

Phoebe Rose is beautiful - my only thing against it is I may use June a 2nd middle name after my nan so would need something with more than 1 syllable. If I don't include June Phoebe Rose is a high contender.

Also love Phoebe Ivy - not sure if the Beyoncé / Jay Z connection has spoilt that a bit though?

Phoebe primrose is lovely
Also think bluebell is super cute - but OH would never go for it & think it might be a little to "hippy".

Snowdrop - always wanted a little dog called snowdrop, don't think it works as a human name though.

Keep them coming were on the right track here Grin

another vote for Phoebe Rose - lovely!
or maybe Phoebe Violet

MummyBeerest · 11/03/2014 10:32

Phoebe Rosalie/Rosalind/Rosaleen work well too in order to include June, I think.

I also really like Phoebe Violet, sounds so pretty.

JayeAshe · 11/03/2014 10:37

The problem with "ultra pretty feminine" names
Is that your DD may not turn out to be an ultra-pretty feminine teen/ young woman
I'm not suggesting that she'll be unattractive
But she could be bookish/ intellectual
Or strong, tall & sporty
A take charge organiser / leader
Many different things for which such a name would be incongruous.
Which is not the end of the world, but giving her a name like that tells her exactly what sort of a person you expect her to be
So that if she turns out to be a different type of person she may feel like she's failed you
And she may not pursue those other ways of being a great person because that's not who she feels she's supposed to be.

I know this sounds like I'm overthinking it but I do work with teens & these comments have come from them not me
(Ditto boys called Steele / Rock / Tyson etc who turn out to be wonderful, sensitive, quirky young men who are convinced they have let their parents down by not being Mr Macho

HoneyandRum · 11/03/2014 11:33

My eldest dd is very sporty (trains four nights a week) and her middle name is Rose, it still suits her and she will always be my beautiful Rose whether she's wild or tame Smile

HoneyandRum · 11/03/2014 11:35

I think Phoebe Jasmine is lovely (Jasmine smells so fantastic!)
