Which girls name and why?

I am looking for a name which is elegant and timeless, and will be a sister for Isabella...I don't necessarily want it to match but as long as it doesn't seem strange with Isabella that's good enough...

Rachel is amazingly common in women my age (25) and presumably no less so in those older than me. Your daughter would have the same name as half her friends mums'.

Imogen just isn't that attractive, in my opinion.

I don't like Cara, but the the others are lovely. Probably like Imogen best.

How about Clare?

Why not Imogen with Isabella?

Don't know if this is Martorana's reason but I have the same initial as my sister and it does lead to confusion over post later on.

I just think the same initials are a pain in the neck.

I had thought about that and disregarded it. I like so few names I can't let it be a determining factor.

I've already had to ditch a few names because they just don't go with our surname, so can't be too ruthless now!

Imogen or Charlotte but I think Charlotte goes best.

Classic, timeless, elegant, but not currently too popular. Probably the only one in her class as opposed to the many Charlottes and Imogens. Charlotte and Imogen are nice names, but they have been popular for years now so there will be many, many in this generation.

Cara is ok, but I much prefer Lara or Laura.

Charlotte by far my favourite from your list - a solid classic that will serve her well.

Both Cara and Rachel are fine.

Not keen on Imogen at all.

I love Rachel. Charlotte will now always remind me of Sex in the City.

Rachel really doesn't fit the brief in my eyes, it's not elegant or timeless. It's like being called Becky or Lauren, also quite dated imo.

Imogen makes me think of Imogen Thomas unfortunately. It's a pretty name but also not what I would call elegant.

Charlotte or Rachel. I only know of two of those at the moment.

Cara. It sounds nice with Isabella - two pretty Italian names.

Charlotte is lovely. What about Cora rather than Cara...sounds more hopeful to me.

Funny. On a repeat of Location, Location, Location at 3 this morning (was up breastfeeding), the couple's girls were Isabel and Imogen. The alliterative names struck me as odd at the time but now I think I quite like it. I do love the name Imogen.

Otherwise I really like Charlotte too.

I love the name Cara. It's a lovely, simple beautiful name and i've met a lovely woman called Cara.

Rachel seems very 80s/90s but still a nice name.

Imogen and Charlotte are so overused atm and I know heaps. I also wouldn't have the same initial either, but still nice names if you don't mind the popularity.

Claudia would be great with Isabella.
