I am looking for a name which is elegant and timeless, and will be a sister for Isabella...I don't necessarily want it to match but as long as it doesn't seem strange with Isabella that's good enough...

Charlotte
Cara
Rachel
Imogen

Thanks

What about Clara to keep the Italian theme going? It Carlotta for an Italian take on charlotte?

Do you call your Isabella izzy? If you were to go for Imogen, izzy and immy might be a bit much.

I quite like the idea of a Rachel revival!! I am 33 and know a lot around my age.

Definitely Charlotte out of those choices.

I dislike Cara because I work with a Carly, Clara, Cara and a Carla and I just find they all sound the same and have lost their appeal, a bit like the Eva, Ava, Evie problem.
Imogen - just reminds me of big brother
Rachel - very much a name of my generation, so will be a 'mum' name for her.

Cara. It beautiful & not over used.

Rachel- not yet due a revival.
Charlotte-dull & overused
Imogen- it's ok.

Emma is nice, Annabel is pretty, I also like Miranda but maybe the comedienne is now too closely linked to that name. Terriekemmett@btinternet

There are just so many Charlottes about at the moment, so not that.

Not Imogen either, but that is just because I don't like the name.

Cara possibly but I actually prefer Rachel from your choices.

Ilikepancakes · 11/03/2014 22:50

Charlotte as it stands up best next to Isabella.

Imogen is too similar.

Rachel and Cara are nice but both short with no nickname options and less of a timeless classic than Isabella and Charlotte.

Charlotte is a name that doesn't ever seem to date, just like Isabella. And they both that great nickname options that sound cute together: Izzy/Bella and Charlie/Lottie.

Mireio · 11/03/2014 22:55

Charlotte definitely goes best with Isabella.

Rachel.

I have a10yo Rachel, named after her great grandma.

It's a brilliant name, there aren't enough these days (which also goes for dd1, Katherine).
