This is kind of along the lines of the unusual names thread, so sorry if it's too similar, but I was surprised to search for a name on mumsnet and found it had not been mentioned on any Baby Names thread. I thought most probably had at least once! So, I am going to correct this now - the name is Hyla (boy). Anyone else have one?

There's a little girl called Justice at the nursery my twins go to. I've never heard it before.
I also know a toddler Samantha but agree not seen it on Mumsnet.
Names I haven't seen mentioned here: Mortimer, Angelica, Jeanette, Annette, Antoinette, Lisette, Maura, Simeon, Damon, Damien, Wilhemina, Aloysius.

I have recommended Nicole before, under a different name. I love it but DP does not.

DPs mate and his partner named their baby Samantha a few weeks ago. But no, never seen it on here.

Never seen,

Kelsey (the dreaded K)
Carol
Melissa

Colin (though I love the name Cole for a boy)
Michael
Keith

The only Barry I know who is under the age of 40 is a Bartholomew. He was one of the nicest most honest, honourable people I have ever met. He was Canadian so not sure if that is the usual long version in Canada or if also here.

StopSquabbling · 09/02/2014 16:58

Barack Obama was known as Barry as a youngster, and then reverted to his proper name.

Good job, I can't imagine a president named Barry.
