I named DS and we agreed that DH would name DD and he's come up with some right ugly names!

Eleanor is the only one I can handle from his list but I really can't see my daughter being called Eleanor. in all honesty, I don't like it. I don't refer to DD as Eleanor and it winds DH up.

Please help me like this name because he's sticking with it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I only like Lillian from yours. I do think some of those names in the first list are meh and bland... No offence to the Dawns, Noras etc of the world!
I really like Eleanor BUT if you prefer Helena or Elena, might your DH compromise? They sound pretty similar but look very different?

I have an Elinor, and she's now in her twenties and loves her name still. She doesn't get called Ellie - she has three older brothers who call her Els, and unfortunately now nearly everyone does!

I'm an Eleanor, and mostly use my full name, though close friends and family call me Nell. Except my sister. She calls me Elsbels Confused

I like Eleanor. Better than Ellie.
Ellie is much more girly.

I'd agree with Eleanor and call her Ellie.

I like it pronounced Ell- a- nah not Ella -NORE.

Zombie thread from 2014! The baby must be about 2 by now. Eleanor is nice. Just hope the OP named her from her DP's list rather than her own, as he clearly had better taste!
