Just met a little girl and nursery called zooey, not Zoe, Zooey pronounced ZooE what do you think to this name? I quite like it!

Not convinced by any name which rhymes with poo-ey.

DS1 would have a field day

Bluestocking · 15/01/2014 18:48

Suet is nice, but it's a boy's name. The female version is Suette. HTH. LOL.

mashyup · 15/01/2014 18:49

I think Zooey is lovely, and I thought it was pronounced zoo-ee and I think of it as a girls name and its much nicer than Zoe so go for it. My teacher friend had a girl in her class cslled Sian, when she called her name out for the register as 'sharn' the girl said"no, it's seeyan' miss'.

FaerieBells · 15/01/2014 18:49

Ahem, even though OP responded very negatively to my post, I am glad that she picked up on my Zuey suggestion.

OP, I fully expect you to invite me to be godmother to poor little Baby Zuey.

God knows she'll need someone sane to rely on.

MyNameIsKenAdams · 15/01/2014 18:49

Cannot believe that people get this uppity about a name. Come the fuck on, people. By all means say you dont like it or prefer an alternative spellibg but seriously....the vitrol on this thread is shameful.

And compared to some of the clap trap on here, Zooey is positively Biblical.

FaerieBells · 15/01/2014 18:51

Pity it's not triplets. You could have Hughie, Dewey and Louie.

Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 18:55

Thank you mashup and mynameiskenadams, thats all i expected was 'no i dont like it' or something along those lines if the poster didn't like the name. I know im being over sensitive and ridiculous but ive found this thread really upsetting.

Tibby dont fret. Theres someone on another board considering Ptolemy.

Seriously.

HaroldLloyd · 15/01/2014 19:00

I'm not a fan OP I prefer Lyla, as well I think it sounds nicer with Tilly.

Don't take it personally, baby names on mumsnet is worse than the outside if ritzys on a Saturday night.

HaroldLloyd · 15/01/2014 19:01

How about Alice.

It's my favourite name today.

Santasaysno · 15/01/2014 19:04

I think gooey when I look at it

Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 19:05

My best friend is called alice :) i prefer the quirkier (apparantly absurd names) :)

MyNameIsKenAdams · 15/01/2014 19:08

I like quirky names. My list (dd is one of these names) is

Liv
Olive
Meg
Vada
Tess

MyNameIsKenAdams · 15/01/2014 19:08

Haha and her MN is Alice Grin

HaroldLloyd · 15/01/2014 19:09

My friend is Tess, in school she got called Tess-tube. Grin

Southeastdweller · 15/01/2014 19:09

It's pretentious and may even cause bullying. Zoe is much nicer - classic but a bit unusual and not too common.

HaroldLloyd · 15/01/2014 19:10

Stella? I love that name but DP has a rep for liking a pint and I do not want anyone thinking I named a child after his favourite drink.

HaroldLloyd · 15/01/2014 19:10

Lovely names ken.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 15/01/2014 19:16

Lyla is beautiful and goes nicely with Tilly (which is also lovely).

Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 19:18

I like all those names Ken there really pretty ill put them forward to DH thanks. We love Willa but doesn't go with Tilly. DH is a big fan of flora too

Like stella too but again have a friend with that name :/

OP posts:
Bluestocking · 15/01/2014 19:23

Now Flora is really lovely, OP.

MyNameIsKenAdams · 15/01/2014 19:23

The Tilly I know of has a sister Flora.

Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 19:25

Faerie bells it may yet be triplets my scan is nxt week. Hughie, dewey, louie and zooey would require 4 babies, here's hoping hay! Then you can be god parent 4 times over!

OP posts:
Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 19:26

Flora may grow on me, theres plenty of time yet! X
