What about Zuri instead?

My god, its only because people are ignorant and utterly rude that my child would ever feel 'burdened' by her name as ignorant ppl raise further ignorance. Its tragic that a name causes ppl to be so nasty.

Look, you can call her Zooooooo-eeeeeee and spell it Dave for all I give a toss but a) don't come on here and ask for opinions and b) making up a thoroughly ridiculous spelling makes you look like a bit of a tit. Now if you don't care if you look like a tit then go for it. Not my kid.

It's a stupid name.

I asked for opinions not to be burnt at the stake for liking a name, your calling me abusive names because i like a certain name that you personally find laughable i think that says WAY more about you than me, bless.

Why did you ask for opinions if you don't want to hear them?

X post.

Tibby

You are an adult. An adult whose responsibility it is to give your child a good name. It doesn't have to be safe or predictable but it also shouldn't be a made-up jumble of letters that you have just plucked from obscurity.

You are prioritising your own silly ideas over giving your kid a decent name.

Which is a bit sad really. Bless.

Where have you been called abusive names?

Report
GwendolineMaryLacey · 15/01/2014 18:01

I suspect it was me calling her a tit...

If "makes you look a bit of a tit" qualifies as abusive names and burning at the stake, then blimey, you're a delicate flower aren't you? I'd stick with safe names that people won't laugh at if I were you.

Again i asked for opinions not abuse. Sorry bunny who do you think you are to say what a decent name is? How self righteous. Anyway this is going no where but into an ongoing thread of vicious messages, i am sorry that my name has offended you all to such a degree i will not ask for opinions in the future.

Vicious my arse! You are quite clearly capable of handling yourself and being every bit as spiky as other posters, OP.

Report
Tibby2 · 15/01/2014 18:25

When cornered, not because i don't approve of a name. And the vicious was to include my own out of line posts.

I like Zoe for a name, I would have just pronounced Zooey as Zoe. I've never heard of the actress or the book. Ii'm not so keen on the spelling Zuey, if you want the pronunciation Zoo-e, just go for Zooey and people will get it once you've told them.

I knew a Zooey (pronounced zoo-ee) at school. A boy though...so I think of it as a boy's name.

Thanks frontdoorstep i do prefer the spelling Zooey, me and DH are trying to find names to go with bumps 22 month old sister Tilly and its not proving easy to find one we agree on but we both like Zooey and Lyla.

Lyla is lovely. Zuey would be wondering her entire life why she got the novelty name. It also autocorrects to suet.
