I'm 31 weeks with a little boy and we are really struggling with names. It feels like all the names we like are already taken by close family and friends. If we like the following, what else might we like?
Charles/Charlie
Federick/Freddie
Henry
Hugh/Hugo
Sebastian

Ooh! Thanks for the speedy replies ladies. I really like: felix, Hector, Albert, Rupert and Benedict. Unfortunately DH has said no to all of them Sad. You're on to the right lines though, please keep them coming!

Jeremy, Sebastian, Dominic, Benedict, Luke?
Have to say, I was stunned to see Rafferty on there - it's the complete opposite of these names.

Great taste puddles, with the exception of Fox, George & Alexander, I like all your list. DH vetoed them all but likes George & Alexander Confused.

Surely, there must be some middle ground with names we both like! I've nothing against the names he likes I just find them a bit dull and uninspired. Thanks for all the suggestions so far, please keep them coming...

Onesleep - I don't like it but know two upperclass families with a Charles and a rafferty.. (Rafe however is nice)

BNmum · 11/01/2014 15:56

You're all making great suggestions which appeal to my taste (rufus, rory, bertie, bertram, lucien) but dh isnt keen. He seems to have more conservative taste along the lines of Matthew, Nicholas, Richard, this is proving to be harder than I thought.

I agree staverton Rafe is nice (but I'm not keen on Rafferty). P.s. we are defs not upper class!

Only ever 'encountered' two Raffertys, and with one the whole supermarket was aware of his name. The other sported a fetching mullet and massive crystal earring. Both typically downmarket to the point of being caricatures.

Onesleeptillwembley · 11/01/2014 16:25

BN what about Peter?

IsabellaRockerfeller · 11/01/2014 20:40

Blimey, this is difficult!
Can you post your husband's list and we can try to jazz it up a bit?!

How about:
Jory
Lyle
Joshua
Marcus
Julian
Francis
Monty
Vincent
