Shadow names (names for other sex)

What were your children's shadow names?

A shadow name for those who do not know the term is the name that would have been used if your child was the opposite sex

DD1 - Maximillian
DD2 Benjamin
DS Ilona
DD3 Bertram or Søren. (was going to be the 2 names but we would wait and see if he felt like a B or an S and use the other as mn)

Dd1 would have been Leo
Dd2 would have been Dominic
Dd3 would have been Joe

Middle name would have been a choice from Ciaran, John, Patrick.

DD was a surprise and I didn't even think of any names, boys or girls, until after she was born - I was just trying to get my head round the idea of a BABY!
DS would have been Edith Helen.

DD would've been Edward (Eddie) or Arthur, we haven't told anyone IRL that though cos if we do ever have a boy we'd probably use one of them!

Ds would have been Zoe
Dd would have been Finley

Ds1 would have been Bo
Ds2 Nadia, Isla or Riba

Son1 -Jessica Lin
Son2 -Megan Elizabeth

DD1 Nathan
DD2 Zachary
DD3 Zachary

Emilia, Matilda, Freya, Astrid & Elsie.

DD2 (no boys name picked)

DD1 would've been Edward James
We were fairly sure of the sex of both DD2 and DS, so we didn't have backup names.

Maryz, in our case, we didn't even consider either name when DS ame along.

We had also chose a name for DD2, when DD1 was born. We didn't use that, either!

It is Maryz, it's funny I absolutely love dd3s name, it was a name that we decided on very quickly & never quivered. We had a few other faves, but she was always going to be her name but that name never came up when we were considering names for our older two girls.

Whether it was a name in a tv show book or whatever I don't know but it never was even mentioned for dd1 or dd2.

DS would have been Evelyn.

If we had another child (won't happen as DH had a vasectomy), I wouldn't have Evelyn as an option. That's the name of the baby that was not to be. She existed in my imagination for about 16 weeks then disappeared. It'd feel weird to use the name again.

DS1 Heather although I was always pretty convinced he was a boy
DS2 Rose
DD Rory although DH was briefly keen to revisit Heather instead of the name she ended up with.

DD would have been Harris

I wanted DS1 to be Manus, I didn't use it for DS2 I don't know why as I still love the name.

Ex over ruled me

DD would have been Sebastian Edward. If we have another child and it's a boy we'd probably use that. We also liked Alexander but I've totally gone off that.

Our alternative girls name has now been used by a family member (odd as it's v unusual) so if we ever have another DD we'll be right back yo the drawing board.

DD1 would have been Theo
DD2 would have been Theo
DS 1 is NOT Theo, incidentally, but would have been Raven or Isis.

Ds1 would have been Jessica.

DD's boys' name we kept and used for DS2.

That post was in response to Maryz....we chose our names when we had DS (our first baby) and said we pd use them up in order...which we have done, more or less. (Some as mddle names).

Leo or Alex, probably.

Maryz we had a shadow name for DS but did not use it for dd, it did feel like it had been taken, that name will always be ds's, absolutely bonkers I know!
