Before she was born our short list was, in order of preference:
Eilidh
Elena
Elise
Cara
Arianne
Jamie

Now she's here I just can't see any of them suiting her, although I still love all the names. The longer she's nameless the more confused I get so I have set a deadline of tomorrow morning to decide.

Please help me choose between one of these names or something else I might like even better.

Elena.

DingDongHairyPOnHigh · 23/12/2013 18:19

I like Elise. Or Arianna (not quite as keen on Arianne though)

MadameJosephine · 23/12/2013 18:19

I like Eilidh and Elise. How about Elodie or Eloise?

AllIWantForChristmaaaasIsEWE · 23/12/2013 18:20

Cara is beautiful.

Mumraathenoisylion · 23/12/2013 18:20

Cara or Elena. I think I prefer Elena.

bronya · 23/12/2013 18:21

I think they grow into their name, and you just have to pick one you like, and are happy to say lots of times a day! If you like Eilidh best, then use it!

Varya · 23/12/2013 18:21

Heard of a baby girl called Athena. Also like Aurelie.

bzoo · 23/12/2013 18:22

Surely you've got to call her Holly?

Or Ivy?

wannabedomesticgoddess · 23/12/2013 18:22

What about Elsa?

Would it help you to know it's normal to feel the names don't suit her? I spent a year calling ds baby bear / little one / monkey etc. It's only really now (he's two) that I finally feel the name 'fits' iyswim.

Choose your favourite. She'll grow into it x

BunnyLebowski · 23/12/2013 18:25

Cara!

HavantGuard · 23/12/2013 18:28

Maybe pick a pet name for her? Something like Tiny Toes or Scrumptious. Give ourself a break from the naming pressure until after Boxing Day and ban it as a topic.

HavantGuard · 23/12/2013 18:28

Yourself

Floggingmolly · 23/12/2013 18:28

Cara is the Irish word for friend Xmas Smile

peacefuleasyfeeling · 23/12/2013 18:29

DD2 didn't have her 'proper' name until she was 6 weeks old, and it was really fine to wait until we felt sure. Now it's perfect. only tricky bit was explaining the wait to friends and family.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2013 18:29

Elise Cara = lovely
Congratulations :)

Doctorbrownbear · 23/12/2013 18:29

IAmABam · 23/12/2013 18:30

Crikey you lot really are fast, thank you!

I'm being ridiculous aren't I Blush I thought I was being clever not choosing before I met her. Am not normally so indecisive either!
