He thinks they're too twee.
I kind of agree, but love Tilly.

He likes Alexandra, but it's not for me.

I like different names, but not toooo out there.

Ie not Jupiter, but not Jane?

We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but I love thinking of girls names!

Any ideas?

I love tilly!

How about Talia?

Iwaswatchingthat · 24/10/2013 22:38

What about Lucy? It has the 'ee' ending, but is more of a traditional name. Your DH might prefer it. Or you could call her Emily nn Milly.

AngryBeaver · 24/10/2013 22:40

I love Tilly too, but I'm not keen on Matilda I don't think?

Not loving Talia either, sorry!

Lucy and Emily are lovely, but too traditional for me.

I like nature names, LOVE Willow, but dh says no way. DM also grimaced when I suggested it!

I already have a Poppy, Finley and Rhoan (pronounced Rowan) .

(& we don't live in the UK if that makes a difference, were in NZ)

Also like Gabriel/Gabriella but too much of a mouthful with our surname which begins with a G!

Iwaswatchingthat · 24/10/2013 22:43

Daisy? Holly? Fearne?

I think Poppy is similar in style to Tilly, so perhaps your DH can be won over!!!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 24/10/2013 22:43

Ottilie/Ottoline? You could get Lottie or Tilly out of that Grin

AngryBeaver · 24/10/2013 23:18

Fearne was on my list but sounds AWFUL said in my accent!

Ottilie sounds too much like utterly!

And my DIL is expecting a Charlotte, who will be Lottie.

Also, dh is N.Irish, so it would sound like Loddy Wink

Hattie is also out due to this I think. (Horriet!)

AngryBeaver · 24/10/2013 23:19

Argh, SIL! I haven't got a DIL!!! Grin

What about Molly or Polly?

AngryBeaver · 25/10/2013 00:02

Poppy and Polly?! Errrm, no! Smile

We have a Tilly, who is Matilda for her 'big name'. We were taken with Tallulah for a while (shortening to Tilly), but it didn't work with the surname. Might be another option?

Ruby
Seren
Annie
Louisa
Georgia
Jasmine
Aurora
Olivia

Ohnoididntdidi · 25/10/2013 00:07

At preschool there is a Molly, Tilly, 2 Millys, a Ruby, Lottie, Polly and an Imogen. All their actual names, not shortened.

Oh just read 'Charlotte' and forgot how much I love that name, could even be 'Charlie' or 'Charls' for short!

My choice was 'Evie' but I had an ' alfie' lol!!

NadiaWadia · 25/10/2013 02:32

Why not Charlotte, Matilda, or Harriet? All nice names. Then you can use the cute short forms like Lottie within the family, and they can use the formal names when they are older, at school, or whenever they/you choose.

pootlebug · 25/10/2013 02:40

I know a Natalie shortened to Tilly.

Rosie
Daisy
Helen or Eleanor nn Nell or Nellie

AngryBeaver · 25/10/2013 06:32

I quite like Seren.

I can't use Charlotte as SIL is due to have a girl called this. Will be Charly or Lottie for short.

Not keen on Tallulah.

I still really like Tilly, just don't think I can convince dh.

I would want to use my grans name as a middle, I think. Which was Nanette.

Her sisters were Bessie, Georgie, Nell which are all quite cool too.

I'd love to use a cool family name.

But again, I know I'll suggest one of those and dh will just go "nope!" Angry

We were arguing about ds2's name (Rhoan) over the phone in the maternity ward!!
He didn't like it, and I loved it, in the end I just said "well, the next time use squeeze a canon ball out your penis, you can choose, okay, bye!" Grin

What about going with Alexandra but calling her Lexi?

elQuintoConyo · 25/10/2013 06:46

Talia? Like Jenny Talia? Hideous name!

Phineyj · 25/10/2013 06:53

Amelia? NN Millie?

AngryBeaver · 25/10/2013 07:46

God no! To Lexi Wink very, erm, WAG(Gish) sounding IMO.

And no to nn milly. Gorgeous name, but I have a friend I see almost daily, with a dd of same name.

OP posts:
AngryBeaver · 25/10/2013 07:47

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude about Lexi.
It's just I'm originally form Merseyside and thats what Alex Curran's child is called.
So now, you here lots of "Lexi, get here babe!" Confused

elcranko · 25/10/2013 12:59

Oops I didn't realise you already had a Poppy when I suggested Polly! Blush

That will teach me to read the OP properly in future Grin
