Makes me think of Ariadne.
And spiders.

YellowCanary1 · 20/10/2013 19:53

Love it

AndHarry · 20/10/2013 19:54

I love it.

BunnyLebowski · 20/10/2013 19:55

Too many vowels.

Very frilly and flowery and Disney-esque.

Not keen.

Theironfistofarkus · 20/10/2013 19:56

Love it. The sort of name I wish I had.

Dilligufdarling · 20/10/2013 19:56

How would you say it?
Areye-anna don't like at all
Aree-arna like alot

chattychattyboomba · 20/10/2013 19:59

Love it...but it's DD's name Grin she's 2.5 and it's steadily rising in popularity. We spell it Ariana, so that (hopefully) people pronounce it correctly 'Ar ree ar na' as opposed to 'Ah ree Anna'...personal preference I suppose. When she was born we had a lot of compliments but recently have had a few 'blank stares' and polite smiles. I think people think 'omg they're nazi's' with the whole Arian race thing....totally zero connection. It means Silver in welsh or god like in Latin....and has strong Persian links too. Sorry for the essay haha!

MillieM1979 · 20/10/2013 20:00

Ar Ree Ah Nah i think

In that case - love it! Grin

Rhubarbgarden · 20/10/2013 20:19

Dislike. Too fussy. And pronouncing it with a long second 'a' reminds me of people who used to say "It's not Tanya it's Taaaarr-nya".

chattychattyboomba · 20/10/2013 20:31

I know 2 Tanya's (pronounced Tar Nya)...not fussy...just another way to say it.

ArtemisiaofCaria · 21/10/2013 00:28

It's Persian.

SadPander · 22/10/2013 21:03

Lovely, also like Ariadne (I know some don't like the spider link) and Arianwen which are similar.

ChocolateBiscuitCake · 22/10/2013 21:46

Sounds too much like Areola - don't like, sorry!

Rosencrantz · 23/10/2013 00:38

Love it!

But only because of Ariana Dumbledore... though that is a veryyyyyyyy obscure reference!

Spaghettinetti · 01/11/2013 09:16

Ariadne has nothing to do with spiders, that's Arachne! :-) Nevertheless Ariana is a lovely, lovely name!

comeandgo · 01/11/2013 09:32

Love it!

First heard it in Sopranos and loved it then.

PinkParsnips · 01/11/2013 09:35

I have a friend called Ariana I think its lovely! She gets Ari for short.

fifi669 · 01/11/2013 09:53

Love it :)

teaandbourbons · 01/11/2013 11:02

Love it! Went to school with a couple (outside Uk) and have always thought its a really pretty name.

VenusDeWillendorf · 01/11/2013 11:14

I love Ariadne, and also Aryana and Arianna. Very New York.

AlwaysOneMissing · 01/11/2013 20:53

I like it, it's very pretty.
I love Ariella too.

DramaAlpaca · 01/11/2013 20:55

It's pretty. I know an Arianne & that is nice too.

SS3J · 06/11/2013 14:27

I went to school with an Ariane. I think I prefer that. It's French I think. Ariana is a nice name though, go for it!

MrsRV · 06/11/2013 16:52

Like it. Prefer Arianne though x
