I give up... I've got myself in a muddle...

Not sure what names I even like anymore let alone want to give my dd2 due in five weeks, any suggestions - self inflicted criteria/preferences:

  • I like unusual names but not 'made up' ones
  • as an example of the above and criteria 2, I need a sister for Briar
  • however no nature names or floral themes
  • I have an irrational fear of picking a fad name
  • Nothing too girly, babyish etc

Any thoughts?

Nb. Disclaimer I don't think all names that sit outside of this criteria are not good names but you've got to have some way to narrow these things down :)

Great suggestions! I love Xanthe, agatha and Blythe - can you have a briar and a Blythe? Smile

Briar and Blythe go OK I think.

lchats · 16/10/2013 23:32

Good suggestions I think the appeal with Blythe is it's short and sweet - we have a three syllable surname... Fussy madam aren't I!

Just what you need to go with a longer surname. I have a kitten called Bryher (after the island)

Blythe is lovely.

Yes Briar and Blythe do go well together :)

or, for other ideas, what about:

Eithne
Carys
Nairne
Laurel

I also like Gray

CordeliaRose · 17/10/2013 19:09

Blythe is fabulous and goes well with Briar. But a friend of mine was saying the other day that it's confusing when mail comes for her older daughters who share their first initial ......

soontobeslendergirl · 17/10/2013 19:13

My OH and I have the same initial and my boys have the same initial too (as each other, not the same as OH and I). I don't think it is an issue - how much mail do any of us get and how long will they be staying in the same house when they are old enough to be getting official mail rather than Birthday cards? Presuming they wont be sharing the same Birthday?
