Is Robert dated or classic?

I don't think I know a small Robert. Is it a Steven/Kevin name, or a John/Andrew name?

A serious contender for DS3 due very soon, to be introduced as Robin.

Is Robin worse/better?

LOVE Robert!

Can also be shortened to rob/robbie/bob/bobby/bert/bertie... So many options!

I was about to say I know an 18 year old Robert, I don't he was Robert as a baby, he is now most definitely a Rob.

I know two small Roberts, one known as Bobby, and one small Robin. I much prefer Robin - Robert is a little bit dated and not quite cool enough to be classic, somehow.

It's lovely, classic, underused and the kind of name that doesn't date really. Brilliant nicknames too (Bob, Bobby, Rob, Robbie, Rab, Rabbiem Bertie etc) which would suit any age.

My litmus test of whether a name is ok, is if you imagine your DC introducing themselves to someone new in a bar or first day of a new job. Robert's great! Also, I've never known a horrible Robert (they have all been warm, funny people).

It's been ruined for me by that bloody annoying robot on Justin's House!
