Hector or Hugo. I love Hugo.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 30/09/2013 11:53

Hugo is lovely. DH refuses to use it. I love it! Not so keen on Hector or Caspar, sorry!

BunnyLebowski · 30/09/2013 11:58

Hector!!

Such a fantastic name and it puts the other two names firmly in the shade. Caspar and Hugo are both super posho and a bit wet.

tammytoby · 30/09/2013 12:23

The meaning of Hector (bully, tormentor) would put me off, sorry. As would the lack of nicknames (Heck..?).

I like both Caspar and Hugo, but slightly prefer Caspar. What's wrong with 'super posho' - better than super chavo Grin!

TheLeftovermonster · 30/09/2013 12:25

I like all of them (not helpful, sorry!)

Sprucegoose · 30/09/2013 12:30

DH isn't keen on Hugo because of its posh reputation... Didn't think that Caspar was a posho name though...?

Hector.

Not keen in Caspar.

DitsyDonkey · 30/09/2013 12:36

Caspar I just adore it!

tammytoby · 30/09/2013 12:36

I'm intrigued as to how a name can be posh - surely it is the person that determines whether someone is posh, chav or whatever. There must be all sorts of people named Hugo, posh and otherwise..Confused.

Seems such a strange British obsesson, this 'labelling' of names rather than people...

ElizabethBathory · 30/09/2013 12:37

Hector or Caspar.

Leopoldina · 30/09/2013 12:39

Caspar!
(hector and hugo are both very fat with shiny faces and red cords and beer spilled down their front while watching the rugger in a pub in fulham)

EnglishRose1320 · 30/09/2013 12:41

I don't think Casper goes that well with your other children's names, either of the other two names would work though, think I prefer Hector but like them both

Littlecherublegs · 30/09/2013 12:46

Hugo

poppydaisy · 30/09/2013 12:52

To hector/hectoring has such a terrible meaning that I would hate to use it to name my child.

Hugo is nice but I'm less keen on the Heeeooo sound at the beginning. Prefer a normal 'h' as in Henry, Hector or hug.

Caspar is the best from your suggestions.

I don't either get the obsession with names being 'posh' or 'common' as most names start off posh and then become popular. Names like Sebastian, Quentin, Henry, Clementine, Arabella were all seen as 'too posh' only a few years ago - now they seem fairly normal (well, where we are anyway Smile).

MrsBungle · 30/09/2013 12:53

I like Caspar best from your list and I think it goes nicest with your other dc's names.

Lighthousekeeping · 30/09/2013 12:55

Jasper?

TooTryHard · 30/09/2013 13:26

I don't think Hugo is posh anymore. It's just broken into the top 100.

I love it and Caspar.

ceramicunicorn · 30/09/2013 13:28

I have a Casper and I'm common as muck. HTH

EschewObfuscation · 30/09/2013 13:29

I love all three. Hector just wins over Caspar with Hugo in third. Great names.

elcranko · 30/09/2013 16:01

Hugo.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 30/09/2013 16:16

The meaning of Hector (bully, tormentor) would put me off, sorry

Oh, I like it even less now. What a horrible meaning.

Suzieismyname · 30/09/2013 16:17

Hector or Hugo. Caspar is a ghost...

Tavv · 30/09/2013 17:55

Caspar

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/09/2013 18:34

I think I'd probably go for Hugo, then Hector.

I wouldn't like Clara and Caspar together (especially when there's just one child with the odd initial out).

littlealien01 · 30/09/2013 20:27

caspar is a ghost to me too.
